Burlington Northern in the 90s Part II

I miss that about being a kid in the 80s and 90s, seeing the old green and black scheme BN engines. Especially when my grandfather would take us to the train yard in Seattle. He worked there, so once a year he would bring us along for the annual family picnic, and we would take a tour of the entire place. Really miss that.

I agree, my Dad worked for the N&W then NS. On the N&W he let me ride with a crew all night and that got me hooked. I worked the extra board for six months when I got older before I was let go because they were no longer in need of extra switchmen.

In the 80s and 90s I was a kid living on the BN mainline to Vancouver, BC. When we did the occasional trip down to Seattle, I would convince my parents to at least drive past one of the Seattle yards to see all the engines I normally wouldn't see and that was the most exciting thing ever. Life was simple then!

I was surprised at the lack of Ditch Lights. Some had strobes and I've never seen that here on the west coast main. Great video!
