Synopsis :
Stella, a space mechanician, has broken down and ended on a desert planet. While she is in despair, a little girl appears out of nowhere. Following the child into a tunnel, in the depths of the planet, she discovers a big cave full of objects that belonged to her, reminding her the dreams she has left behind.

This is such a fresh perspective on an often cliche theme, where in film, they would always show the dreary, mundane life of the protagonist and her career choice, and then at the end of the film, let her follow her dream. Here, as said before, we get a much needed REFRESHING PERSPECTIVE. A woman on a literal journey to following her dreams. I watch this every month. I love it!

“I’m afraid of giving up on my dreams when I grow up”.... I feel this in my soul. I have been so upset and worried and stressed out about the future and I guess it’s because the future I want seems like so much impossible work so I never try. I feel like I’m already giving up and I guess that little quote reminded me why I have dreams and goals in the first place. Why am I sharing this with the internet. Idk whatever

What you're sharing is a universal message. It feels good just to get it out, even if no one hears it. Personally, I'm not afraid of failure, I'm afraid of not learning from failure (cuz my memory is pure, undistilled, diarrhetic doodoo) and wasting so much time just to fail. It's due to my own experiences of failure is why I take so long doing anything new, cuz if I fail at that, at least I know I did what I could.... and that's when the finger pointing begins 😋

So if I'm reading this right, some sort of alien presence on a distant planet entered this woman's mind and manipulated it, seeking her most vulnerable memories and emotions. Once she was determined to leave it gave her the power needed, and also something to take with her. She's now stealing her employer's spacecraft and abandoning her life to head off into space with likely inadequate experience and skill. Something is in her mind It will drive her to find a new world to colonize, then make her crash her ship, spreading the infection. As her craft plunges into a distant landscape all that will fill what is left of her mind is the laughter of children.

I'm sure Cecile could back up a Kickstarter campaign in a second...but she has such an amazing path (she's an engineer and she quitted engineering to study in Gobelins, which is one of the best animation schools in the world). She did an internship at Disney and studied in CalArts, the school where dozens of the A artists from animation came from...I'm sure she's trying to learn as much as she can from studios, but I also hope someday she'll start another very personal project like this one. She's a very rare talent. ♥️

@Caro Tea: Why are you salty about someone else getting a degree? Talent is nothing if the person can't grow it and school is one of the ways to grow it. What if some of the students have parents that work 18 hours a day just to get this 'privelege'? Or someone that have worked 18/7 for a few years until they can get this second degree? Actually, doesn't matter if they come poor or rich, they still sucks if they don't work of it.

This short film is so accurate. I love the message behind the story, it makes me think and feel and figure out what the message is. What it means to me. I always wanted to be a doctor growing up, but I gave it up and replaced it for another goal. Now, that I see this I don't want to replace my dream and start working on my goal when I was just a little girl. My burn out started at the moment I gave up on my dream, because I thought that I couldn't achieve it. Life is too short for doing things that you don't like. I graduated regular uni, I spent a gap year thinking what to do next, I tried different things, most of them failed. I almost found peace in just living and decided to get an ordinary non-stressful job. But today I was searching my old mailbox and found emails from Gobelins. I applied to it after high school and failed. It was exactly the same feeling as with Sirius Academy poster in this film. I remembered how excited and passionate I was about animation and art. Maybe it was just nostalgia. Or maybe it means I should try going for art again, with all that weird experience I got from temporarily giving up. Anyways, love this film!

This animation comes in the right time. I feel down lately. I'm so afraid and anxious if I couldn't achieve my dreams. It's hard since everyone I knew seems doubt me. Eventhough I work hard to achieve it lately, but it's sad that I need to stand alone. From this animation, I understand that I should keep believing, at least for my younger self. Thank you. Bless all the team behind this animation project...

nice character design and clever use of lighting and color when the tone changes! the expressions also seem very realistic, kudos to that. the pacing works really well and i can tell you polished this a lot. you end with a very clear and straightforward message when she resets her course. and although the voice actors are a little rough around the edges the voices match very well! nice job :)

I see myself in this film and it made me cry because I'm afraid of a lot of things. But one of the things I'm most afraid of lately is missing the beautiful days and the moments I can live for the sake of fitting in the routine life that we created. It feels like I'll die without being who I wanted to be or doing what I wanted to do. This film reminded me it's never too late but it's still hard. Hope I'll change before it's too late. Beautiful film ✨

I found this refreshing. I liked The Little Prince. I usually don't like stories that take place in space. But this was so beautifully done that for a moment I got pulled out of my own mind and into my childhood and I really asked what my dreams ever were. I don't know what they were. But I would love to know what made me that kind of enthusiastic as a child.

That was the child version of her, wasn't it? "I forgot about that" They also look alike, and the child said she's afraid of giving up her dreams. It's clearly her dream to explore space, and the child disappeared once she took her dreams back up. Plus, the child came out of no where.
