The guitar is so magical that the vocals and horn are not even there, and do not ruin the song. That is how magic works.

I hear, "Down on this killing floooooooooorrrr." in the solo. This had to be in 1967 or early '68. I LOVE THIS! THanks for the post!

Late '67. Supposedly this is the session where Page said it looked like the Yardbirds wouldn't be going much longer and Jones said "if you're forming a new band and looking for a bass player, would you consider me?"

I'd always thought this was a pre-Zeppelin number! One of Page's most exciting solos.

Well it's from 1970 - With the Exception of John Bonham, All three of these Gentlemen had been together quite a few times doing Session work throughout London since the Mid Sixties - Earlier for Jones and Page - It does obviously have a Zeppy Feel to it - Great Collectors Item.

This was from before Zeppelin was together. 67 or 68. But they did indeed do that in 1970, when Page, Bonham & Jones played on Screaming Lord Sutch's album "Lord Sutch & Heavy Friends" just as a favour to him, and as a mess around. That album was considered the "worst album of all time" when it came out. Bit harsh.

All hype. They were good as all 4 together but individually they are average joes.
@apolloptx4 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Page isn't average.
@bobsmithradates73464 жыл бұрын
@@apolloptx Jones and Hopkins certainly aren't/weren't average either. And Cattini was a really in demand, respected drummer, so I don't think he is average either...Page wanted Cattini in Led Zeppelin. The Jeff Beck Group, The Who, and Jefferson Airplane all wanted Hopkins.
