I live in north Texas right now for school, but I'm from Austin, and I have to say I was shocked they didn't pick a Thai restaurant or an Indian food restaurant. Austin has great places, and you can't get them anywhere else in Texas

The other vlog Burnie did where they went to a bunch of BBQ around Austin did a much better job of making me want to eat there. Living in Austin currently , I really recommend checking out Via 313 , it's about 5 blocks east on E 6th from the convention center, and really amazing. I also recommend going to the jackalope downtown for good food & drinks!

There's a difference between BBQ and grilling here. Grilling = hot and fast (burgers, hot dogs, steaks, etc.) BBQ = low and slow with lots of wood smoke (ribs, pulled pork, brisket, etc.)

I did a Austin tour 2 weeks before Rtx. Did as much as I could from suggestions from the subreddit. Tried torchy tacos and home slice. One cool looking place that is a restaurant and tattoo parlor is Spider House. During rtx, got a breakfast taco at some place near the convention center.
