Dan, I'm 50 ,I've hunted most of my life and have shot alot of bucks (nothing older than 3.5 though), I've learnt more in the last 2 years watching your scouting videos than I have in 35 years of hunting. Honestly I had no idea what thermals were or how they effect sent movement but it makes sense to me now why so many hill spots around me are almost un-huntable. I guess it's wise to never stop learning. I appreciate these videos, thanks.

Man I could sit here and watch you plot out scenarios and hunts that haven’t happened yet ALL DAY LONG!! i catch myself day dreaming about being in the stand anytime I find a area I wanna set up in. Almost that time.. bloods pumping, minds running, seasons coming and I’m getting no sleep already. Same thing you'd do anywhere else. Concealment is key. I like to tuck into the base of a evergreen. Cut a couple branches (if you're able to in your area) and set the cut branches in front of you. They never see it coming. Back into a bush using the same concept. Concealment is the key brother

Do you see a thermal drop on smaller hills? Lets say an island that is maby 5 or 10 ft higher than the swamp around it

Got a question, do you ever see when hunting Public land with a mile or so to private land where the bucks might not be on the PL till ppl start pressuring the private or the food is on private and the bucks favor it before oaks drop on the Public? My area in NY only has red oaks and beach nut, which one of these has more pull on bucks and do bucks really like the red oaks but just tolerate eating them?

I find there is a certain age class buck that stays back in those spots pressure or not, but pressure certainly puts more in those spots.
