I had to replace the nut,shim the neck,copper foil cavities.The tuners hold tune better after I lubricated the plastic sleeves on the knobs and tighten the knob screws,and then lube the nut slots.After adjusting pup height and blocking trem,it stays in tune,I love the light weight and slim neck.Now I have a light fast rock and roll slaying piece of Chinese wood.I do not recommend the Glarry guitars for beginners unless you know how to work on guitars.All my Glarrys took some work to make sound and play decent.Their great mod platforms.This one took less work than all my otherGlarrys

A guitar for a 10 year old. What a coincidence. 2 weeks ago I gave my 10 year old nephew an Epiphone Special II because, like you mention in the video, I also dont think they can get started too early. I chose the Epiphone because I dont think a beginner needs a whammy or the added hassle of tuning a "floater". Hving seen your video and looking at the E-bay link I'm however considering the wite one. I could paint an angel on the headstock and name it "The Angelfire". The next part of his journey is gonna be "the cool uncle". You know, educating him by showing him all the old AC/DC, Pink Floyd and Van Halen stuff and all that. Then all that is left is crossing my fingers and hoping he gets the bug...

It stays in tune, that's what matters most in a cheap guitar.. I've gotten some cheap ones over the years that would not hold tune , which makes it worthless to me because you can't record with it.. but this thing is great for the price.. it's better than most of the $150 -$169 guitars.. I paid $71 total.
@MartinBlasick Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear it's holding tune so well. Funny thing about tuning is I'm always fine tuning for punch-ins even on high end guitars. Guitars are inherently wonky up and down the neck. I'm intrigued by those necks that have wiggly frets to compensate for each fret on each string.

Does the whammy bar work and does the guitar stay In tune or does it get out of tune when you hit the whammy bar
@MartinBlasick7 ай бұрын
It works. It doesn’t stay in tune very well when using it. Subtle use will get you through a song after which a tune up will help. If you push it all the way you’ll likely need to tune right after. For recording I punched in after each whammy.

@MartinBlasick2 жыл бұрын
The guitar can do it but I’m not sure about the amp because I don’t have it. When I gifted this guitar to my young relative I include a tiny beginners amp that has built in distortion. It’s not a high end sound but it does rock. So if the Glarry amp doesn’t have distortion you can always get an inexpensive distortion pedal. And truth be told metal is in your fingers and feelings. The killer sound is the cherry on top.

I literally thought it was just for decoration due to it looking as if it's built on the guitar (the part you screw it in at idk the name lol) I'm a beginner so I won't be using it anytime soon but that's good to know. I have the exact one but the black version. Got it from Walmart website for the same price with shipping included and I'm not the greatest but looking into getting lessons to get better. It's definitely an eye turner I was asked 3 times what it was when I took it to guitar center due to it not staying in tune, Still happens but different strings now lol. But they liked it and when they heard the price they flipped. One guy shredded on it that's played for 13 years and buy does he make it sound good...
