All these great drummers, showing respect for the greatest..🥁

It was in the morning, a day like any other day that this appeared on my phone, listening on U tube. I couldn't and didn't want to turn it off, such an assortment of drummers. The camaraderie as they all converted and stood in line in subjection to the man himself,Buddy Rich, the template of drumming. Neil Peart, Bill Buford, Steve Smith, Steve Gadd, Billy Cobbin, Dennis Chambers, Alan White, Carl Palmer and others, you are also my template as a drummer, this is truly evolution at its finest. An awesome tribute.

Neil Peart. Such a humble genius.

Buddy was a perfectionist, and was not easy to deal with, he had a short temper, and often fired musicians, who couldn’t keep up with him.

Don't compare the two. Buddy was a jazz drummer. Peart was not!

i don't get the why behind this comment. i like his vocabulary, both on and off the drums. do I think he can swing, no, but why go out of your way to say it?. like, you say that about assholes. but neil wasn't an asshole.

Not trying to crap on his accomplishments as a drummer, but, had he not curated these sessions, he (admittedly) would never have been on these sessions. He does have great taste in drummers though.

So you play better than Neil Peart? Show us!

@@christiancazabonne right. Because that is EXACTLY what I said. Learn how to read something and not be immediately triggered to make a knee-jerk reaction.

@@christiancazabonne You can believe what you want but in my opinion Neil Peart is vastly, laughably and hilariously overrated. His performance on both “Burning For Buddy” DVDs is the worst of all the drummers. I saw him live at the 1991 Buddy Rich Memorial concert. Not only was he totally out of his depth but he had his ass handed to him in a drum solo battle with Wil Calhoun (of “Living Colour”). Peart is a solid rock drummer but that’s it.

@@magiscichoamSolid rock drummer? You’re out of your mind! I agree he was out of his element alongside these drummers, but to put down his considerable skills is ridiculous. You might want to get off your high horse and take a look at yourself.
