I have 3 Leucothoe (not sure of variety: exceeds 10 feet tall, evergreen) in my 7b heavily browsed garden that were planted by the original owner. More than 40 years later, it is growing very well under deciduous trees in heavy clay that can become quite dry. Takes well to pruning to control size and has never been browsed by deer. Excited to see this dwarf variety! Thanks, Jim🌸🐝

This plant does well in North Central CT. Mine is over 30 years old. Light morning sun, some early afternoon sun and then shade after that.

Oh this is so exciting! I was listening very intently, waiting for you to say if this would be a shade plant. Some times i can look at a plant and it feels fairly obvious if it needs full sun. Anyways, im so excited that this would work in part shade! Really trying to fill in my yard but we don’t get much sun. Its one of those tricky things. I love the privacy feeling of all the trees in my neighborhood and the fact that i live in town but it somehow also feels like i live in the woods. But most of my yard is in the shade or at the most, it gets morning sun or partial/dappled sun. It’s frustrating going to lowes or home depot and seeing how most of the plants are for full sun. Anyways, thanks for sharing this plant! I would love to have this one in my yard and i’ll be looking out for it 😊

Hmm I may try this. I have a lot of part sun but that’s due to some very large tree’s which creates more dry shade. I suppose if I can get it established, it will take off from there.

Hi Jim, I've got 2 species Leucothoe that are growing and blooming well but they are always full of leaf spot. This specimen looked very clean in the video. Is this a feature of the 'Burning Love' cultivar?
