How does a game with so much next generation positive elements and utilization of features get such a low score rating 75/100? I think the main problem with Horizon outside of the original game is that there is too much of everything. Too many outfits, too many resources, too many different kinds of weapons, too many stupid skills that really don't make a huge difference after a certain level. It's like if you have too much of anything that is supposed to be rare, or special, then it no longer is all that and a bag of chips if there is way too much of it.

There is no doubt that the game is stunning. By far the best graphics of the year. Sometimes you boot the game up and you just wanna stare at it. But as you said .. there is too much of everything..like Valhalla .

Focusing on the wrong points. Aloy is not oppressed by anyone except Nora tradition, making her the flawless, morally unfailable spoiled brat she is in HFW to anyone outside of Nora territory is just tropy character script... mostly of contemporary "strong female character" ideals. Her personal journey from the 1st game is not over yet she is presented that way... only 6 months within the game timeline. Simply not believable especially with a father figure like Rost. Then of course the implied sexualities of everyone in that world... simply not important, or, plausible. A world with this big emphasize on hunter/gatherer tribe culture homosexuality will not prevail as normal or casual... simply look at our own societies. And in the whole scheme... it just does not matter or should not. I do not want to see her in romance with anybody (except Kotallo, mayyybe)... I want her to explain what is happening on the grand scheme to all ppl on the planet. That is her mission and responsibility! Yet she does not amn instead remains the contrived wannabe badass she is completing chores and fetch quests for a way overblown grindy crafting game.... *sigh* First game made me give a damn about her and the fate of all. Now I just want to mute her constant self talk and replace her with a more likeable person. Varl, Beta, Erend or Kotallo.

Well you need to finish the main game just to play the dlc. But if you're not a big fan , this is probably not for you.
