is that a Daiwa 7000C??? or is it a 5000? The 7000c was my first "real" reel back in 1987..... I still have it, and have a brand new one in the box still from 1989.... Thanks Jerry

Back in the late 80s and early 90s, if I had some free time, I would fish for these in the Newark Bay from Jersey City. I also just dug up earthworms from my backyard as bait. Saves a ton of money because bloodworms are expensive. These were also called Lafayettes by the locals. Some people call them Napoleons too when I saw them caught in Maryland. I never ate them. Just fished for fun and chucked them back in. I remember them being smaller than the ones you caught on this video though. These are great fun to fish if you have young kids who can at least hold a rod. Thanks for the video!

Wonderful story! They are a fish of sundry, a good fish for kids and old bastards alike. They can be live lined or cut and make an awesome bait as well either live lined or cut

Hi Jerry, Lots of spots on those blood worms. Looks like you hit a big school. Good luck, Mickey

Bloodworms worked great

Cool video I caught a bunch last summer also I find they will slam a trout worm or night crawler just as hard as the Bloodworms. The freshwater worms are a bit cheaper. But bloodworms are awesome bait in general scary but awesome.
@FishYourWay2 ай бұрын
Great place to take the kid and fish for spot. Yea those bloodworms will bite. Get bit all the time but onetime was bit deep between the fingers and alot of the poison got in my hand. Swelled up like a boxing glove, was kinda scary, I almost went to the er but it went down after a few days. Same poison as a wasp or copperhead just a smaller volume

@@FishYourWay saltwater panfishin', right?!
@FishYourWay2 ай бұрын
@@frankzima7998 I have to say no. The dynamics vary too greatly, however and unless the focus and intention of the angler is purely in terms of a harvest. The interpretation could be misconceived in conversation. I do must add saltwater panfishing would be a great title for a show.

@AlleKat2 ай бұрын
Yeah I want to see that,I hear they work good.
@FishYourWay2 ай бұрын
Yea, and to be straight forward I think they suck prefer the sea worms over gulp for this kinda fishing anyday. But I have kept some in my bag just in case bait was scarce and those days I would find crabs which would outfish the power sandworm

@@AlleKat I may have done video in the past, I wound up flipping rocks for crab and caught more fish with the crab

I found this to be quite true, I did see a 30+ inch striper take a swipe this year but rarely they go for gulp and about never bother to use it for em

"spot burning" accusations can be silly. Sharing an outing to a public fishing pier is not spot burning.

Totally agree, I watched patterns through the years and the sources that drive the angler who follow location patterns are never discussed. I could write a book on the topic and it would be a NY Times best seller with my angle and experience
