its definetly cool to have it close automatically but i definetly agree that the actuator would add a headache that would really suck to fool with.

I hope that someday, when this amazing project is complete, CDPR contacts Burning Wrenches and offers him a ridiculous amount of money to borrow the Quadra for promoting the next Cyberpunk. Edit: Also, it's amazing how he isn't satisfied with appearances, but actually wants to have his door mechanism take real-life concerns like loss-of-power into consideration.

I'm so happy to see more progress on this project. The continual improvements on your engineering and the fabrication skills are great to see. Since I've been watching this build. I've gone from knowing very little about fabrication, to having built several cars myself. One starting from just a body and half of a tube chassis. You continue to be an inspiration. Hopefully I'll soon be confident enough to start building a car completely from scratch. I have an idea for a short wheelbase 4x4 with 80's retrofuturistic styling. Keep up the good work. I look forward to every upload.

to gets the speeds you want with an actuator you would have to go with air pistons or hydraulic, but that adds another layer of things, tbh the semi-auto mechanism works really well

Honestly asside from watxhing this guys growth in engineering and how much more compitent he has gotten (was already really smart but now they have the experience and have improved alot) the progress they have made with their english is amazing and their presenting. I know its text to speech but still if you go back to the start its all broken and takes alot to figure out what was ment vs said, in more recent videos its basicly fluent and even just the way they structure things is so much easier to follow. Ive been following this since the first quadra episode and now I love this channel and think they are amazing im looking forward to following this to the end 😊

The Ford Flex uses a linear actuator for the rear hatch that operates electrical or manually without you having to do anything. It might work for your doors.
@norbertbukki56205 күн бұрын
Not gonna lie this was like a view into the future of cars! The door turned out pretty advanced with time well spent to remedy functioning difficulties. I had a brainstorm while looking at the moving mechanism: my simple brain manifested an image that had a steel bowden attached to the "roller wheels' plate". Most of said steel bowden would reside inside (basicly hugging the bent shaped wall) that inner railing you made when the door is closed. Opening the door would have that steel bowden pulled by a small motor. Would also work with a motorbike chain (would be more robust) replacing that steel bowden that could also be housed in that railing for the rollers. That would simplify the interior behind the seats with no moving parts such as those gas struts and the outward moving actuator arms. In the end the process would have the forces moving backward safely confined (can be made fully invisible to the eye) VS the outward working forces with the struts. As for the door holding bent reinforced arm: it is Art even by itself! Turned out 10/10! This is just my oppinion! I love how this project is evolving with every episode! Wish you alot of strength aswell as finding the joy in creating something spectacular! Wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Greetings from Hungary! 👏
