As an avid tf2 fan this is amazing. The attention to detail, the deep dive, the recreation of meet the engineer, amazing. wish this video wasn't unlisted so I actually got a notification but still. Uncle Dane would love to see or have this as an engineer NERD who just made his own game mode on his line of community servers and I think it would be worth showing him this. And if that isn't enough show the whole community like Soundsmith, Banny and the other big names

As a nerf enthusiast this video was pretty funny. For starters Xshot is currently doing better than nerf at the moment in terms of marketshare and sales etc. The second was the Xshot is probbaly the only company that has ever offered extra chains for thier blasters. So the sentence "This is an Offbrand nerf gun so you can't exactly buy extra chains." Had me rolling. they are like 20-30 bucks for another 40 on amazon. The other thign was cool was that actually there are so many remakes of the xshot chains for 3d printing (Though the hacksmith ones probably look the coolest IMO). And obviously... nerf automated minigun... yes please lmao. The rage fire is awesome but it does have feeding issues with worn or used darts. it needs a bigger feeding flywheel. Nice to see the rage fire getting what it deserves. I need this thing for my two rage fires.

Making a simple step by step almost lego instructional video to detail the development of engineering projects is the exact style of channel ive been dreaming of for years. Grant had the right idea, but i believe it was abruptly flatlined before he got into the a more mature and developed audience. I'd be impressed if a similar style for teens and young adults pre college could be executed properly. Afterall, you learn better communication skills by teaching.

4:40 the way my heart started racing as you prepared to extrude cut a circle. My Solidworks professor took off “big BIG points” for extrude cutting circles and insisted we use the hole wizard. I asked what about for things that are going to be additively manufactured and he said “in this class nothing is manufactured, only drawn the right way. BIG points.” I extrude cut circles on projects all the time now but I still get scared every time 🤣🤣

It's amazing to me to see how much better of a host you are than anyone else on staff. What you choose to say, how you present it, etc... and lots of your guys have been around for years. It didn't take you years to get this good and you're just leagues ahead of everyone else. I know videos do better when you're hosting, but it's not just cult of personality, you're plainly better than anyone else on staff. Especially on your own projects. You know what to say, you know what's interesting, you get what makes good content. ... This is like, the 3rd time we've seen the reappearance of Riley without context of how/why he's back. Also, you refer to HERC but haven't actually done a tour, explained what happened to the last place, etc etc. There's gaping holes in the narrative. Doesn't hurt one-off vids but the thematic narrative of the channel could use some tidying. Oh, and I loved the side-quest to show some basic tool use. I think the depth was right about perfect. I think everyone watching you for entertainment would also enjoy some of these micro how-to inspiration type stuff.

Do we want more engineering in our engineering vids?! Hell yes! I know the KZbin algorithm is a demanding and unforgiving ( and rather unreasonable ) taskmaster, but my favorite vids of yours have always been the ones where you break down the hows and whys, and also show when things don't quite work out how you wanted and go over how you figured out what the problem was and how you overcame said problems.

Okay, I understand that this isn't common knowledge, but X-shot isn't an off-brand nerf. They are also pretty good manufactures of foam flingers. I don't know for sure, but you probably could've gone to their website and bought some more links.

I took a solid works class in highschool and it really brought me to joy to see even high level engineering like you guys do uses the exact same skills I've learned, a whole lot of "boss extrude" and "extrude cut" and "fillet" and maybe a fancy feature thrown in. Dont stop what you are doing because it really does give young people like me hope that I can do this for a living

FYI, you can get digital calipers with builtin Bluetooth, so that, at the push of a button while you are measuring, you can fill in dimensions/etc. in your CAD software. That saves *SO* much time over constantly switching from measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to measuring to typing to...

@@hacksmith Mitutoyo comes immediately to mind. If you already own any of their calipers or micrometers, they have a 'U-Wave Bluetooth transmitter' accessory that mounts directly on them. If that is too dear, I hear good things about iGaging, which also offers the superior 'absolute-scale' function that Mitutoyo does. It's 'DataConnect Data Output Kits' work with all of its products that include a data port--which is pretty much all of them. I believe that they also have calipers with built-in Bluetooth. (To be clear, I'm *NOT* a caliper expert; I just pay attention to those who know a lot more than I.)

WOW you found an amazingly extremely practical usage for that belt printer, and I mean, printing guitar sticks was not an actual use case. Here we have reverse engineering, redesign optimized for 3D printing and Gabe from Slant3D would be proud, print in place hinges, modularity, and effective exploitment of the full capabilities of this machine. I can foresee the Army printing this stuff in ABS-GF at scale. Loving it!!
