I recently started wood burning and im just doing very basic zentangle designs on wood. I have ideas for a succulent much like the first design (from the top view) and your shading tip game me ideas on how to work with my own. As well as ideas for adding color too. Thank you for this!

These are pretty simple shapes for a beginner (forget the shading, not for me yet) and I do love succulents, so I think I might try. Thank you for this one, and for all your help and tips.

How do I know which side to shade from? Is it based on the light source or is it always the same?
@BurnSavvy
@BurnSavvy 6 ай бұрын
Definitely based on the light source. Shade the parts that would not be in direct contact with the light

Thank you so much! I'm a newbie in the U.K. Just started yesterday! I'm seriously tempted to sign up for your kits if you ship to over here? 😊
@BurnSavvy
@BurnSavvy Жыл бұрын
I would love to ship over there! I don’t right now because the shipping pretty much doubles the cost of the box, and many countries won’t let me ship wood there, but I would love to find a way sometime down the road!

@@BurnSavvy Ah, ok. I thought mailing here might be costly. But, thank you for your brilliant videos! Could you recommend a make of burner to start with? I am drawn to the slightly more expensive nib ones. Thanks. 😀

I absolutely love the Colwood Detailer. This company ships it worldwide, and if you decide to buy from them, use code SAVVY to get a discount: www.bearwood.com/deluxe-kit-detailer.html?aff=14 You might need buy an adapter to use it in your country, but it’s worth it. Colwood also has the Super Pro machine which is awesome if you want some thing that has higher heat and a dual burner. Colwood is interchangeable with Optima pens, and with a pen adapter you can use Razertip pens on the Colwood machine too. It’s very versatile

Can seal with just mod podge

True, but mod podge is not water resistant. I prefer anything that’s going to get handled to be water resistant 👍

Hi there! Please can I get an answer to this question... Why are they called succulents, when in fact these plants are inedible, and extremely toxic to humans?
@BurnSavvy
@BurnSavvy Жыл бұрын
Haha! Good question. I know some are edible and some are not, but I couldn’t tell you why they are called succulents
@burghbrat3319
@burghbrat3319 Жыл бұрын
Late to the party (sorry) but the plants are called succulents because they reserve water (they're 'juicy') in their leaves and tissues, and can survive hot, dry, desert conditions where they don't get frequent or regular rainfall. They take what they can when they can, and store it for later when they need it. Most plants would die in such conditions, but succulents can survive for months or longer with only the water they have stored.
