Burpee Seed Starting Greenhouse Kit from Tractor Supply. This is the first planting for the 2018 spring garden. I'm getting my backyard garden kicked off by getting some pepper seeds in a seed starter. After I get my garden rowed up I will put my other plants right into the ground to sprout up. I'm excited to get this year going. I have a few things different up my sleeve for this year. I hope you follow me this year and keep up with how I'm doing. If you are not subbed to me already then jump on this wagon and keep up. I will let you know if I succeed or fail. Thank you for watching hope to talk to you soon.

Awesome yeah I’m going to have to put my other seeds in a starter. We have to many cold nights ahead. I don’t think I’ll get any to germinate if I put the seeds in the ground.

Dan is awesome! I don’t know him personally, but I’m subscribed to his channel and he seems like a super nice guy! There was plenty of rainwater to choose from over the last week or so for those seeds too. I know what you were talking about there. I saw on a channel where they took a mini blind and cut all the plastic strips into short, 2 or 3 inch, pieces to use for labels when you’re planting different kinds of seeds to show which is which. Just use a marker to write the name of the plant and use like a regular label. It made a bunch.

I planted these in March I do believe. But make sure what ever you plant make sure it’s time for them to plant. If you have a green house them you can start your seeds and have your plants in the green house until ready to put in the ground

@@BackwoodsRaised I was going to put them on my back porch. I am in central Louisiana. I wanted to get started planting them soon. It says they take two months to mature. And you know Louisiana weather lol. I I am going to do tomatoes and bell peppers.

Hey Spicy, TYFS your seed planting plans. I watched pickerick1 pepper challenge . I laughed so hard at samwise, Countree girl & Drunkinone. I don’t eat peppers except for Bell Peppers. Looking forward to updates. Have u got your onions planted yet?

Michael Byrd I did. The germination was really good the only thing I messed up with was planting to early. We had some unplanned cold snaps that stopped me from planting. I just got them planted today. Now my long horn seeds did not come up but I think the seeds might have been bad. I was pleased with it and would recommend it to others for sure.

I just bought one of those kits over at Tractor Supply. Total JOKE! I should have read the reviews on their site. I decided to just do one tray at a time. You pour warm water in and wait and wait and wait. After 2 hours, I've got what amounts to dog turds in each cell with water in the bottom. Most of it was still rock hard in the middle. So I took a 2 Quart measuring cup and added HOT tap water and put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. When it was steaming hot, I added the pellets and stirred it up really good and then let it sit for awhile to see if I could get them to expand more. I finally ended up having to get a metal spoon and chop the living daylights out of them to break them up because they were still huge chunks in it that were hard as a rock. They would break up if you picked them up and squished them with your fingers, but then you've got a bunch of nasty gritty coir on your fingers. I finally got it all chopped up, and spooned it into an empty cell tray. Not enough soil there to even fill them halfway full. So, I just dumped the original ones which still hadn't expanded fully into the 2 quart measuring cup and zapped them. I'll probably get enough to completely fill one tray by using almost all of the coir from the pellets. I still have some seed starting mix...good thing I do! I'll have to use that in the other tray. If I had realized this was Coir rather than PEAT I probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place because years ago, there were plenty of people having problems with it. I got it for the domes. Twice the price of Jiffy, but I was in a hurry and too tired to drive all of the way into town. Big Mistake. I hope you have better success than most.

Holy cow that was a crazy story hahaha. I did not like my end results. Just like you I thought it was the PEAT plugs. Luckily all mine swelled up but I did have one cell that did not have anything in it haha. I will not be siring one next year. Thank you for watching and for your story
@SandcastleDreams
@SandcastleDreams 6 жыл бұрын
Well, I finished both of them. Those pellets are enough to fill 1 full tray plus 2 rows of the 2nd tray. Evidently, they've been selling these things for at least 4 years. The Environmentalists kept pushing Coir as a growing medium. I don't know how this stuff can form a rootball. Unless it rots by the time you need to transplant.
