Forgive my ignorance, but could someone tell me why you hit the release valve after you extract the air? I thought the whole point was for nO air to get in the jar in the first place.. Btw, I use these to store my fresh squeezed juice

You want to extract, then burp everyday for two weeks. Once that is done you can pump the air out for long term storage in a low oxygen environment.

How does it help the cure? Seems like a vacuum sealer not a curing burping jar. See through jars also are not good cause they let light in.

You pull the stale air out with the pump, then burp the jar. The negative pressure pulls fresh air into the jar to complete the burping cycle. Saving so much time rather than unscrewing all those old mason jar lids every single day, waiting 15 minutes, then putting them back on. I’m hoping they make some to fit the normal jars soon. I wanna try these but my jars aren’t the normal wide mouth mason jars. They do an amazing job as is. I’d wanna try these as a cherry on top to the violet jars.
