There are 4 levels of seriousness in the Baki universe Level 1: when the clothes are taken off normally Level 2: when the clothes are taken off with style, either by jumping or backflipping quickly to take off your clothes Level 3: when the clothes are taken off in slow-mo and they begin a stare-off Level 4: when the clothes are taken off by flexing your muscles so hard that the clothes get ripped apart

In case you missed it, what Baki did when he unlocked the demon back was beat the 0.5 unconsciousness rule. They explained in the anime that when a person performs anything, they are unconscious for 0.5 seconds before the nerve signals reach the brain. What Baki did is that he beat those 0.5 seconds and punched Olivia before he even moved. Which is why Oliva unexpectedly got knocked out after moving literally inches.

So a lot of people don’t know this because they haven’t watched the ‘90s series: Baki fought his father once and won the underground tournament before the Netflix series. Against Yujiro, he found out that finding himself close to death would make his body produce endorphins, which would give him a boost, and that brain animation would play when he would get powered up by the endorphins. Later, he was able to unlock the demon back fighting Jack Hanma in the tournament. Oliva is the only fighter that made him produce endorphins after he fought Yujiro, and combining that with the demon back, he became a beast. So it’s not really plot armor, it’s power ups stacking.
@fightsclub8768

The difference between the both characters in my opinion is that Baki use more technique, but Oliva he only use his body power, you can see that obvious in the scene when they punch each other and how each one start his punch
@kingades1013
@kingades1013 2 жыл бұрын
No Oliva definitely had technique. When they were both about to hit each other's faces you could see them both using technique. Oliva even had more weight behind his punches and was punching as fast as baki until near the end of the fight. Weight advantage and technique makes quite a difference so I don't know how baki could logically win with JUST power

Baki isnt exactly "getting off" on the pain, Unlike Yuujiro who can pretty much activate his demon back on demand Baki has to either take a certain amount of damage quickly or being angry enough to do so. That slam Olivia did went over the damage threshhold and sent out the signals to get rid of inhibitions and limiters.

His punch was not slow at all. From the time his hand moved till impact was only 0.046s to cover roughly 1m. An Arm segment mass is about 5% of total body mass (about 4kg for Baki's 75kg body). Therefore his arm alone was moving at about 22m/s. The kinetic energy of that movement is almost 900Jouls. That's double of a 9mm gun's bullet. The energy transferred though was probably double that since he transferred his whole body into it so by lowballing his punch was about 1800Jouls of energy (4X the energy of a 9mm bullet). The above calculations might be way off since recorded punches from professionals with much lower speed had about 400J of energy. So,they probably transferred more than 2x their arm mass into the punch.If you apply that to Baki's punch it will make it 2000-3000J+.
@konnor9577
@konnor9577 2 жыл бұрын
Actually, with Just his arm mass, his punch was probably 1340J not 900J. I forgot to add his whole body dashing the 1m in 0.2s that's an extra 5ms to his arm velocity. So with transferring more mass from his body which we don;t know the amount, his punch could be 3000-5000J.

I've seen multiple people comment on the replay of Baki's hit on Oliva saying it took 1 second, but if you watch back the punch lands at 0.206 seconds and the 1 second thing is when Oliva hits the ground

Wing chun please react to it. Because its difficult for somebody to attack them because of their centre line structure. You take kickboxer and for them to do a roundhouse kick they would be fatally hit thru short travel thru the centre line before the kickboxer could finish their spin. Bruce Lee originally was a wing chun specialist. I still think wing chun is severely underrated and people overlook it alot. I wish this series had a wing chun specialist and not all mma cookie cutter stuff.

While Biscuit Oliva is based off of Sergio Oliva, Sergio didn’t get anywhere close to being 330 pounds as Biscuit reportedly weighs. Biscuit is around 6’ 330 pounds which would be a lot closer to Baki fighting a guy like Ronnie Coleman who was another Mr. Olympia who was 300+ pounds in the off-season while he competed. Sergio never weighed more than 240 pounds at least while competing. Imagine Sergio Oliva + 90 pounds of muscle, that’s what Biscuit is

Baki got me into boxing and then later BJJ. Yes, a lot of it is unrealistic, but we’re dealing with super-humans. It’s silly, but that’s why it’s fun. You can’t be too serious.

I feel like Baki wins this fight because Oliva has no intention to cripple or kill him. In a fight to the bitter death, he could have just ripped him apart off that first grab. Then again, shockingly few people actually DIE in Baki, and Oliva's specialty IS live capture.

When you said what it would be like to be grabbed by someone as strong as a Mr.olympia. I've been grabbed by 3 people like that throughout my life. And let's just say it sucls really bad. You feel helpless. Like when your a little kid and your dad picks you up to take you somewhere you don't want to go. Haha

Haha I used to do BJJ with a guy who when he grabbed your arm it honestly felt like he could just crush it in his hand if he felt like it, it's terrifying and really makes you feel helpless. Luckily he was a very sweet man and would never use his strength to throw you around too bad

@@BurridgeMartialArts604 one of my first 2 martial arts coaches is one of the 3 men I was talking about. He Was a massive man. Not who you would think would be a standard martial artist. 6'3 about 300lbs. Had a bit of a stomach but the rest of him was solid. Forearms where huge and veiny and His grip strength was insane. Strongest I've ever heard of actually. That was like his specialty he grabbed you it was over. He shattered a regional arm wrestling champions hand by shaking his hand. Like you know how people do, squeezing your buddies hand hard to see who gives first. Like a strength completion. He was a living monster when I come to think about it. He could break baseball bats by snapping them like some people snap small sticks. I wish I could get physically as strong as he was. I gave trying to be his kind of strong like over 16 years ago. Haha

They didn't pick up where they left off of part 3 and we already knew baki could imagine an opponent. I think it was drawn out to just be. And I've been a fan around 06 hoping for more. This wasn't really I thought it needed. It reminded me of DragonBall z playing on the weekends in the 90s waiting for the main fight which took forever. But I'm still waiting for a better season next time.
