+FrontYardVideo Hi there, No new videos but the owls are back and appear to be nesting again. They just "decorated" the burrow a couple days ago so I'm pretty excited, just worried that last two years they've gone through the same ritual but I never saw any babies. I don't know if it's pesticides/insecticides so I have asked a neighbor to not used them in the vicinity of the burrow. and I wrapped a sign around the telephone pole. I also saw a black racer snake the other day and I don't know if perhaps one got to the eggs or owlets in the last attempts, but I'm sure keeping my eyes peeled for problems. Looks like I have to learn how to record them with my new camy or pick up a camcorder, go-pro or whatever people use nowadays. Thanks for checking in. Hope you're doing well my friend.

This just made my day!!!!! SO FRIGGIN CUTE!!!! "WHaaaaaAAAaaaa? " I've always been completely amazed and in awe of Owls. Not the relatively recent trend, but the actual creature! Beautiful, Fascinating, intelligent, and adept, I remember reading and learning about Owls in/from a small "magazine" in my 4th grade science class but I cannot remember the name at this moment. Anyone else get these? Would have been back in "92" and around that time. Anyway, thanks for upload!

I have to head tilt with him. The action is just that contagious. I can't do it all the way like him though...or else something would be wierd with my neck! xD What a pretty/handsome owl.... ^.^ One of the first owls I heard of was a Burrowing Owl; the other was a Barn Owl. They actually scared me a bit when I was little and heard about them because of the screech at nighttime thing I heard they do. They're pretty owls too though.

I saw an owl once here in El Segundo, California (Los Angeles county). I heard the ravens going crazy and looked up in the tree to see 2 giant yellow eyes. Scared he HELL out of me. They look cute in books but there is no way I'll approach one after seeing it's claws. I respect them lots.

Why is it that they turn their heads upside down like that? I read that their ear sockets are uneven and that they do that to refine their location defining abilities, but it was from a questionable source. Is this true?

My sister lives in Florida, and she says she sees these owls in her friend's ranch. I have learned that burrowing owls are common residents in Florida.
