Hi Jack, I've been using the SSP HU in my DF83 for over a month now. Purchased my used with a solid 50lbs of seasoning. From my own personal experience, I think the reason why you're not seeing a clear improvement in the cup is simply seasoning. I'm quite sure you will enjoy them much more after 5-10lbs. As a reference, my espresso range with the HU is between 4 and 9 marks from 0 point. I can grind quite fine with light roasts. I'm positive the next time you compare these in a video, you'll have a different end result ;) Also... The plasma generator kit is REALLY worth it! Check it out! Good job as always! Cheers!

@@mycoffeeshow111 Yeah I had the stock burrs for a few months. They are really good! I personally prefer the HU with modern roasts but I would be very happy with any of these, really. The Ion generator kit is a breeze to install! C'mon.. not more complicated then doing group maintenance on your La Pavoni. Removing the capacitor is not a necessity. There's a way around it... Hit me up if you ever end up doing it. Cheers!

Hi, thanks for watching. I hardly ever give up on the first hurdle. I did brew 2 pour overs today with those burrs and they were ok. I did espresso as well which was awful but for that I have MC5. As for carafe, it is from Orea. I have a video about it: kzbin.infoQQpxHLxcELY?feature=share

Hey guys! At first thanks for the video! I'm a beginner in this whole game and I plan to purchase the DF83v2 very soon. But right now I am so confused because of the whole burr thing. Should I simply go with the standart burrs as a beginner? I'm actually planning to mostly make espresso with the grinder and try if it does filter coffee OK for my needs (maybe I would buy a manual grinder for filter extra one day). Thanks for your tips! Greets from Germany!

Hi, DF83 with standard burrs is a very capable grinder and you should be happy with it as it is. Once you have it for a while, you may consider upgrading burrs but don’t expect huge difference, especially from HU burrs. All the best!

puck pressure .. your slow mo parts in the vid, underneath your open portafilter .. you see that it is uneven, in your other videos also .. almost channeling, but not .. do say it is 30-40 % over extraction and 60-70% under extraction .. you missing out a great deal from your puck!!, which then obviously translates in what you taste, which is also not correct to compare anything .. you should fix this ASAP .. and no, your decent can't fix this ..

Thank you for the advice. I wanted to blame it on Wafo basket or on unseasoned burrs but few other people mentioned that so I have to bend to your collective knowledge. Will be interesting to test them again, maybe against 64mm mp or even Flat Max 2 that should arrive this week. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Will do better next time.
