Burt Bacharach - Alfie Amazing version

Kabbalah per tutti di Luigi Papa

Kabbalah per tutti di Luigi Papa

13 жыл бұрын

io credo nell’amore, Alfie
senza il vero amore semplicemente esistiamo, Alfie
finche non trovi il vero amore che ti manca non sei niente, Alfie
quando cammini lascia che sia il tuo cuore a mostrarti la strada
e un giorno troverai l’amore, Alfie

One Amazing Night is a 1998 live tribute show performed by artists such as Dionne Warwick, Elvis Costello, Luther Vandross, Sheryl Crow and others to honor the music of Burt Bacharach.[1][2][3] It was recorded live at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City with Bacharach himself conducting the orchestra and playing the piano.

I look at comments and I feel sad that people don't know who Burt Bacharach is. He is a legendary song writer composer who wrote songs for many famous and wonderful singers. he had a show many years ago and he, along with another writer wrote many unforgettable wonderful songs. A true musical legend of his time and his music will live on forever. Dionne Warwick was and still is a wonderful performer and singer who Burt wrote many many songs for and was her manager and mentor. He featured as apart of her shows that I lived to watch as a young girl still at primary school. Irrelevant comments and silly nonsensical statements just piss a person off. What i suggest people do, is look at the history in music. Google the hell out of something, know your music, feel it and appreciate it and respect it and the people who create it. If you can do that, then you will learn to love all kinds of genre. if you feel music you are blessed, but if all you want to do is criticize, because you havent got your flow on, then take your minus musically creative shallow soul elsewhere and dont make a comment. So...yes a wonderful man and his performance is in his latter years, and still very wonderful. Love and respect.

Who grew up listening Burt Bacharach's songs (like me) is a very lucky person. Besides, this man is the only one who brought me to a show! No regrets absolutely. Watch his show, being part of this moment, was one of unforgettable things that I made in my whole life. So sad to live in Brazil and probably no more to have a chance to watch by myself, with my very eyes, this genius. I'm sure that his legacy will rest among Chopin, Tchaikovsky and a few others to all eternity.

What's it all about Alfie Is it just for the moment we live What's it all about When you sort it out, Alfie Are we meant to take more than we give Or are we meant to be kind? And if, if only fools are kind, Alfie Then I guess it is wise to be cruel And if life belongs only to the strong, Alfie What will you lend on an old golden rule? As sure as I believe there's a heaven above Alfie, I know there's something much more Something even non-believers can believe in I believe in love, Alfie Without true love we just exist, Alfie Until you find the love you've missed You're nothing, Alfie When you walk let your heart lead the way And you'll find love any day Alfie, oh Alfie What's it all about Alfie?

I had the pleasure to see this genius musical gift to the world in an intimate performance at BBKings NY about 10 years ago. Small stage packed with maybe 12 piece orchestra. Alfie was never a standout song for me despite Dionne and Cilla's classics until Mr. Bacharach played his original version and funny..it's the only song I now definitively remember from the show. I hold that night as one of my dearest memories. (edit - I see a year later I've written the same comment. I guess the truth always comes out in the end..I love the music, yes I do)

I saw him live in concert in Phoenix AZ 2012. I was lucky enough to shake his hand when he came to the front of the stage.

I don't know how he made it through without breaking down. He was close a couple of times, but that's what makes him a professional - paying tribute to his friend of so many years and collaborations.

Burt Bacharach....What more can you say about this great man that hasn't already been said? I first heard his powerful, timeless music as a kid in the early 70s because that's what my parents were listening to at the time. The music he created was not about money. It came from the heart and it had substance and meaning and emotion. We're all blessed to have received his gift of music!

I remember my mom and dad went to see the "Alfie" at the movies, but I was only 9, so while I didn't see the movie until much later, it was my first introduction to Burt Bacharach and Hal David. I was pretty precociously following music at that age, and I was really intrigued with the music, but not so much the lyrics, because at age nine they were a bit heady. I discovered that he also wrote Dionne Warwicks hit, "Walk On By" prior to "Alfie", which really peaked my interest. Then there were Dionne Warwick's hits, "Do you Know the Way to San Jose", and "I Say a little Prayer". So now I'm really a big fan. However, when I was 12 in 1969, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was released with "Raindrop Keep Falling on My Head" and so many great score pieces like "The Sundance Kid", "South American Getaway", and "Come Touch the Sun", all of which put me over the top for this great singer and song writer. Thanks for the great memories Burt Bacharach and Hal David!
