Burt Bacharach's minor and demonic chord changes and his quirky time signature changes made him exceptional.. And Hal David could surely write a lyric.. My dad did Burt's Australian tour in 1972.. He was a professional muso.. Drummer/percussionist... If there was anybody who needed to live forever it was my precious dada and Burt... I long for those days back... Especially musically..

After his singing intro, Dionne carefully moves the piano mic so that Burt has easy access to his music to play. He reaches for the mic and see's it has been taken care of. What a talented pair who move in tandem. Burt, you’ll be missed. Thank you for the music!

In the 70-80s I learned line by line more than a dozen of Burt Bacharach's compositions - compositions performed by Dionne, PERRY COMO, Aretha, the Carpenters and Tom Jones, among others. Burt at 94 left us a wonderful legacy of beautiful music. Rest In Heavenly Peace Burt.

Watching this thru tears as Burt passed away last nite. The man wrote the soundtrack of the '60s and '70s, the years of my youth. Saw him in concert a couple of times. We'll not see his kind again.

The legacy left by Bacharach and David can't ever be over stated. Their songs are a combination of seemingly simple melodies and lyrics which, when examined closer, are anything but. Pairings like theirs only come along once or, with luck, twice in a generation. These songs will be listened to and re-discovered for as long as humankind is around.

Couldn’t agree more. Best version ever performed. It all just clicked on the night. Totally in sync. And see how Burt is almost orgasmic at 4:30 after that unique key and tempo change when Dionne adds her magic. Obviously even better than they’d rehearsed. Incredible! Tearful.
