Watching Bacharach and Warwick live together on stage and watching them looking at each other and completely in sync with each other and playing off each other is a beautiful sight to behold! I was just a girl and my first notice of his music was "The Luck of Love", probably because I was getting to that age where all of the sudden, I was interested in what love was all about! And then in high school, besides my beloved Beatles, discovering Patti Smith, Sex Pistols, Blondie but still also loving Burth Bacharach, Carpenters, Smokey Robinson. etc. It is sad to me that so many people willingly limit themselves by only liking certain genres of music. To be open to ALL music is to be open to anyone's heart- because that's what music does. I love that quote from when someone asked Duke Ellington what kind of music he liked, and he responded, "I like GOOD music". And Mr. Bacharach, thank you because you made some really GOOD music, that all music lovers will forever be grateful for and will play and sing forever.

A giant! Can't be enough accolades for Burt Bacharach. Along with Paul Simon and Neil Diamond he made the 60/70s pop music (music extraordinaire). As well, along with the brilliance of both Hal David and Dionne Warwick the ears of a young America at that time were educated to a much higher element of musical expression than could be hoped for. It took me a year or two (in about the mid to late 60s) to realize that a great deal of the 45s (single records) I was loving and collecting had Burt's stamp on them. Hit after hit after hit (and even some of the non-hits) -- so much fabulous music. Thank you Mr. Bachrach; and thank God for sending you to us. You took a God-given talent and through much sweat and toil turned it into a gift to the world. Well done (time after time after time). And in closing "I Say a Little Prayer for You" for good health and longevity -- and a few more wonderful songs, perhaps (please); because "What the World Needs Now"... is Burt sweet Burt! 2/2019

What made his amazing is the fact that he was able to hold his own in the 1960's when the Music at the time was either from The British Invasion, Motown, The Beach Boys were dominating The Charts. Even Phil Spector his Brill Building Colleague was starting to lose steam. I remember hearing not too long ago Jack Jones Get Ready For Love and it had such a Mad Men Vibe to it and it was played on The Show.

It's amazing that Bacharach's music for WOMAN was terribly received in 1977. Listening to it now, 40 years later, we can appreciate that it was far ahead of its time. People are basically lazy when faced with something very original. They have little appreciation for nuance and want something that is very easy to understand. That is my humble opinion.

Man., I see a lot of people on TV who are like, broken or offended when you say you're a one hit wonder. The incredible mental fortitude that it takes to compose and arrange and write the lyrics to even a one hit wonder band. Burt is just going to live on forever. You get hooked and swept in by his total package. He is the very definition of perfection. New bands and singers will come along after we are gone and will hear his music and say, "we got to cover this song." There's nothing wrong with that at all. Beautiful. Unique. Unfortunately I did not hear anything about the concert in Berlin in July 2018. It was his second appearance in Germany at all and lasted for two and a half hours - without a break - even for those who jumped in the hall constantly from their chairs and celebrated him, the 90 -year-old, frenetic. - At the end of the fifties, ER was orchestra conductor for Marlene Dietrich and still completely unknown, but single-minded. She just let him do it. For many of my generation, Burt B. was almost a "musical early education". Here everyone knows his tunes, even unconsciously, especially the unconventional harmonies, this memorable mix of playable jazz, synth pop and Latin, which has entered into the collective consciousness of several generations. Musicians, like my father or I later, always knew that. All the hits are not about hits. Radio songs. Dance songs. Soundtracks of carefree life. Only positive reviews. One wrote: Make it easy, even if it's hard. Earwigs that could enchant Americans and Europeans and easily convince Aliens.

@@gwenmarie7311 Right On! David Foster was the same way. I heard that Marlene Dietrich was quite the "Playa" back in the day where she had "Parties" for her Friends. I first heard about The Brill Building when I saw The Documentary Girl Groups The Story Of A Sound. Sadly as you know between 2020-2021 alot of Girlband Icons have died. Pamela Hutchinson The Emotions (Best Of My Love), Bonnie Pionter The Pointer Sisters, Mary Wilson The Supremes, Georgia Dobbins (The Marvelettes) who Co Wrote "Please Mr. Postman", and most recently UK Girlband Icon Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud (1981-2021) who died of Cancer.

Even when they were `home`, someone would probably have an idea on how to improve the Song, etc. To this day, Dionne Warwick never had a collaborator as good as what she had with Burt Bacharach and Hal David (RIP), I take nothing away from The Bee Gees or even Barry Manilow but those two were synonymous. Kind of like Diana Ross`s Career without Motown. Even her Songs at RCA were tied to Motown. Muscles, Missing You and Chain Reaction that was later covered by The UK Group Steps.

We will never see the likes of this genius Burt Bacharach he was a composer and song writer extraordinaire, a creator of mega stars, the principal person who transform popular music of the 60s and 70s to what it today no wonder today's music is in regression because of the absence of this genius
