Ever since they shut down the turbine at the dam, the fishing hasn’t been the same. So many leaves and fast current make it tough to fish. Looks like the boulder spot is too low too fish as well. Glad you didn’t get skunked, Bill. Hopefully the rain from the hurricane will help the stream out and raise the water levels and bring more fresh fish.

Yes I agree. It went down hill after the turbine broke. It's sad. I really like fishing there.

Nothing to do with turbine. 100% to do with the fact the ny dec stock hardly any fish there except useless chinook salmon. Same thing with the oak. Shadow of what it used to be. Waste of time driving over there from Ontario now. Surprised local guides / hotels / businesses haven’t made any fuss considering the loss of revenue they must have felt. Used to be out of state cars from as far off as Texas dropping $’s while visiting the area purely for the trophy brown trout fishing. Not anymore…..

i agree completely 100% they also stopped stocking the domestic rainbows that made up a large portion of the early fall catch on the oak and burt

@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures I remember fishing back in the early 2000’s, November would be loaded with steelhead, browns and kings. Average day was 15-20 hook ups. Had days where you would hook about a dozen of each species. I enjoyed it when the turbine ran because the flow at the dam was a lot better and brown and steelhead would sit in that turbine current and hook them one after the other. Now the current is messed up, coming from the dam towards the parking side shoreline.

LMAO @ the Trout Taxi comment. Gotta give those salmon credit for the fight they put up in the urinal-cake waters of Dirty Burt. I'm amazed they can tolerate the contamination in 18 mile...I've always wondered if the spawning is all that productive in that creek. Chances are if you catch a 2-headed salmon in Ontario, it probably spawned from the Dirty Burt!

Nice video Bill.I could use some Coho eggs. That spot at the foot of the falls reminds me of a spot on the Salmon river. An eddy current about 4 feet around. Never saw anyone fish it. People would walk right by. I would drop my float down and let it go in circles.Just like you were doing. I always hooked a fish that was laying in there.
