Hey Simon. First of all, thank you for putting so much thought into my picking problem. I'm writing to you here because my post on Udemy is somehow not being forwarded. Actually, my question was stupid because you can't know how I hold the pick, which pick I'm using, whether my fingers are open or clenched into a fist. The fact that you showed me the Troy Grady videos was a game changer. When I saw that Troy uses a Jazz III, I remembered that I still had one lying around in a drawer somewhere. I ordered 6 of them years ago and couldn't do anything with them because my picking wasn't good at the time. What can I say? Problem solved! With all other picks, I was hanging way too low between the strings. Now I glide over them and can even control the attacks dynamically. Even muted thrash riffs feel much easier but still more powerful. Thanks for your tips 🤘🏻Greetings, Kevin

Mainly it's to do with minor intervals and minor harmonies with the odd chromatic chucked in for good measure!

@simonsmith Hey Simon, big fan here.. question I have is how do you find these tones? What do you use as a daw? Or what’s your method of creating a tone for known bands? Much appreciate it in advance

Hi mate. I was using Reaper as a DAW. I've done a video on how I get these tones a while back. Here you go: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJfFp3pqmbJ3jJo
