I asked my parents to buy this record for me when it was released. (I used to live in a small village far from record stores) The salesman looked at them and said "I can't believe that people listen to this". My parents were ashamed at that comment and never bought me another album. I'd say to this day that this album is in the top 10 of my collection.

@@goblinsdammit Being a genius is a title you achieve, not an opinion from someone else while you not liking those "shitty albums" is you being subjective. You can't decide if he's a genius or not based on YOUR musical taste. Also, "as a musician he's not very talented"... I'm assuming that you made a reference to the fact that the instruments don't sound good enough or "talented". Isn't that the point of Burzum? Everything is supposed to sound "bad". I feel like you're saying that if he was really talented then there would be more technicality in his songs but that's just not true. His music sounding bad is a belief fueled thing, he's trying to spread a message and express his feelings... What I mean is that he's not bad at the instruments, or maybe he is who knows, but we can't decide that from the sound of his music since making it sound weird was the intention.

Few times in human history, younger, naive artists, express their understanding of the world around, within and beyond them in the most prolific & groundbreaking manner. Oblivious of the gravity in that inspiration, they simply let the talent go on its own path, grow & evolve as an individual unit. Just like a natural phenomenon that triggers a reaction and then moves towards chaos, decline and regeneration.
