Such an inspiration! I'v been wanting to build my tiny house school bus for a couple of years now but I'm only 16 so it's kinda difficult to figure it all out but I'm really glad I found your channel it really helps to have a 3d model of the school bus.

Great job on the cabinets!

Thanks! They're a long way from done though. We should have countertops on and the faces on (minus the doors) by our next update.

Looking forward to it. Keep it up.

Hi, I'm Joel. My wife and I are in the midst of a conversion. Have enjoyed and appreciate your story telling. Our bus has a rear diesel, so that dictates where some things go. Thanks for the advice. Once we are on the road, a trip to the Northwest would be possible. We lived in the Tacoma area, love the available fresh year around produce. We are fascinated by the Denali Park and might really enjoy the trip. If we get that way, ok to look you up on web for more advice?
@LastFrontierAdventureClub9 жыл бұрын
Sure thing, we'd be happy to talk about Denali any time.

We are moving to Washington for the summer, and then to phoenix for the winter

Nice! Like your rack!! Just built one a while back for my bus. Wish I'd seen your video before I did mine. :).. Good luck - where you moving to?
@LastFrontierAdventureClub10 жыл бұрын
Do you have a video or pics of yours? I didn't find much information out there on bus roof racks so I kind of just went for it. We're going to Washington first, for the summer, and then to the Phoenix area for the winter. After that it's up in the air.

I do. Actually I will be uploading that video next week so I'll post you the link when it's there. I'm in Oregon but I've lived in Seattle 3 times. Both states kind of similar. Washington rocks!!

I haven't see any insulated wall there , and windows only have one layer of glass .
@LastFrontierAdventureClub10 жыл бұрын
All of the walls/ceiling have two inches of fiberglass batt insulation. All of the windows we have removed (7 in total so far) have 2" of R-Tech insulation in their place.

Not to get too personal but how are you keeping the baby warm. The baby needs to be in a stable environment just saying.

We don't live in the bus yet. We live in a house. When we leave, Jenna and our kids will fly to Washington, and I'll drive through Canada. From there it won't be that cold, and we'll get our propane furnace when we arrive.

If the available space is so little why the use of so many 2 x 4s ? for the bed its OK but for other structures is too much , I had built small clossetts , pantries , shelves ,cabinets , etc bigger than those on a bus with 1 x 2s and quarter inch plywood .
@LastFrontierAdventureClub9 жыл бұрын
Mostly we actually used 2x3s instead of 2x4s. A couple exceptions would be the 2x4s supporting the counters (which easily could have been 2x3s probably) and any wall that may eventually house an electrical outlet. If I could do it all over again I think there would be a lot more 2x2s used, and even some aluminum angle.

Beautiful job. Did I hear you say you used silicone on the roof? I'm being told a better product is Dicor self levelling lap sealant. Would that be better for the roof material you have? just a suggest.
@LastFrontierAdventureClub10 жыл бұрын
Since posting that we have been using silicone, we have heard numerous replies about how it is not the right sealant for the job. Since we're not experts, I'm assuming they are right. All silicone on the exterior is paintable, and is painted, which HOPEFULLY should keep it from getting too damaged by UV light. We'll probably end up having to redo some of it though.
@shelleyfisher536410 жыл бұрын
Last Frontier Adventure Club yes! Please look into that, otherwise you will end up repairing "leaks" and by leaks i mean water is getting in. Don't let that happen to your beautiful space. I just sealed up near fan on my roof, all of it was silicone and was brittle and not even adhering to roof. Good you're getting good advice ahead of damage so you can control now :)
@shelleyfunny1910 жыл бұрын
Last Frontier Adventure Club That reply was from me, and when I explained about leaks, I didn't mean that you didn't understand leaks I meant that by that time you would be dealing with water coming into the coach as opposed to doing it now before that event occurs.

Do you live in this full time? How do you make money? I'm 47 years old and will soon be losing my home and have been looking into this. I just don't see much on how someone makes money to buy fuel, food...necessities. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

We still have to work. We're currently job hunting in Sequim, WA. This KZbin channel is a source of income though, and I do freelance web and video work, which helps us fill in the gaps.
