Should Have Left It There 😢 Ridiculous Interference With History That Is Important To So Many People. Also A Shelter!!! Just Ridiculous!! Just Because You Hold Different Opinions. It Happened In History...Can't Change That. Safety??? These People Are Happier. "If You Can't Find Something Good To Live For, Find Something Good To Die For". RIP Chris 😢♥️🌎✌🏻🙏🏻🕊

The fact that they moved the bus is unbelievably disrespectful and sad. Typical government thing to do: Destroy something sacred that's meaningful to people "for their own safety". People are going to do that hike whether the bus is there or not. The reasoning that the government gave was bogus. They routinely perform rescue missions all over the state regardless. It's a small part of the bloated government budget. If people die trying to make the hike, then they die. It's a personal decision to take on the risk. The Alaska government basically made a nanny state decision with the bus and it's disgusting and they should be utterly ashamed of themselves for disturbing the resting place of Chris.

This is the real deal review. Come to this day 2024 ( I understand this video was done 10 years ago ) I still enjoyed it and would give a rating 10/10.

The last conversation I had with my grandfather was about quitting my job and chasing life. Living in a way that I choose and not being stuck in a lifestyle all about chasing money. I have tried. I wish I had the balls to leave it all. But there has to be a happy medium. I don't have to go to a bus. But I feel more alive alone in the wild than I do alone in the city. And I wish I had someone to experience this with me. But in the end, even surrounded with loved ones, we are all truly alone in our minds in the end. I love my family and friends. And I think most free people are stuck in a falsehood never truly experiencing what life has to offer.

I'm So sorry about what happened to your Brother Carine. There's a Chance I could have rode a Ski Lift with Chris- as I was Snowskiing in Breckenridge, Colorado on Spring break in 1988 too. I Also worked in Denali National Park in 2000 and lived about 10 Miles from the Bus. In 2007, I saw the Movie INTO THE WILD Many times and have bought Alot of books and passed them to Friends so we can learn from Chris's Story and Treat each other better ' Hopefully

In 1985 I quit my job sold my house and drove to Idaho. Lived in a home made log cabin. Enjoyed the life. Then I returned to MA. Returning was the stupidest thing I ever did.

Peace comes with a cost....like freedom...it is a constant struggle to find those two most important pieces of the puzzle to life! Chris realized young that the risk to accomplish peace and freedom are risky and not without cost...cost of feeeling alone, cost of hunger, cost of relationships and yes, sometimes the cost of life, and he was, aware of this. But what he did not lose, which did not have a cost, is his love for the people he cherished. There is where the "man" in Chris lives.

Carine is a very brave woman. She broke the circle of family abuse and became a mother for an adopter daughter and another one with Down Syndrome. On top of that, she express a lot of love for Chris, while saying he was selfish for leaving his family in the cold for his whereabouts for 2 years, but also for being an avid outdoorsman, adventurer, a bit of a poet and philosopher. I saw Chris last pic in where he knew he was going to die, but was able to say goodbye and accepting his fate in peace.

Your book and story have had a deep impact on my heart and soul. Your words and journey, as well as Chris's, resonated with me ever since I saw the movie many, many years ago. When I saw the movie I knew "there was more to the story". Reading your book helped me to connect the dots and put the puzzle together for my own life and journey. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your experience. It has brought me tears, as well as much peace and healing. Sending love to you, your girls and spirit of Chris 💖

Love how the sister that he wanted away from also is all about his story now for the money. He wanted away from her too now she thinks she the story teller of him. Disgusting. She was part of the problem why he went to start with. .. he left his notes and she was not one he would have wanted telling his story. He did not care for her. The movie is always not accurate.

The fact that certain people think he is an inspiration are completely distorted. How in the world was he an inspiration? He was a stupid unprepared kid thank you he could go into Alaska and live off the land without any experience or equipment. That makes him stupid and he died a horrible death. How is that inspirational?
