Great video and Happy Holiday season. I like the new camera position. I am trying to figure out how PCC does line runs compared to when I drove in 1970 to 2000s. You drove to Chicago and were going home. Did you pull a line run back the next day? If a driver was from Urbana and had no place to stay does he dead head back or does he spend the night in a motel and retrun the next day. How many hours from Urbana to Chicago on a line run? Thanks I enjoyed the video

I'm not normal! As an office worker, I only drive when we run out of drivers, so my driving schedule is very different from the norm. Normally, extra drivers will drive a full bus load in one direction and then deadhead back to the original facility empty (or vice versa). Our busy seasons are heavy in only one direction at a time: students leaving school or heading back to school. The driver won't stay in Chicago. Schedule drivers will do the full round trip with passengers in both directions as that is their assigned route. Depending on traffic and the route, a typical day can be around 9.5+ hrs; 3.5 hrs one way, ~1.5 hr break, 3.5 hrs back, 1 hr for pre/post trips.

I love the old H3-45, Albert, after our LIVE Q&A on motor coach vs train, we could go out for lunch together

I like the new camera angle. Does the tag not steer?
@alblua12 күн бұрын
The tag doesn't steer on the Prevost H3-45, it only lifts during turns (the hissing you hear). The MCI J4500 and MB Tourrider do have steering tag axles
@Toyota000012 күн бұрын
@ Got it! I’d like to see the new camera angle when you’re driving one of the other ones with a steerable tag. Nice videos. Also, James must be busy. I don’t see many videos from him lately.

Already got videos of the Tourrider, just have to edit it! Yes, James has been very busy lately

At 0:35, that steer tire looks new to me.
@alblua12 күн бұрын
There is a 4/32-in tread depth requirement for steer tires

My question please:How can I become a bus driver in USA?
@alblua12 күн бұрын
You will need a CDL Class B with passenger endorsement. Most buses have air brakes as well (another endorsement) and most companies require charter endorsement.

@@albluahow long did it take you to get through those courses? genuinely curious what the commitment is
@alblua12 күн бұрын
I took two weeks. Usually training from scratch will take longer; I was already familiar with operations working in the office and being around the buses.
