Where are all of the VanHools located in Peoria. Crazy airport drivers, it doesn't matter what decade or century you drove in or how big you are they will cut you off and get mad at you. I thought PCC had a small daytime cleaning crew as well as nights.

I love how you have a display shows]ing the buses’ alignment to the road. I always wonder how drivers of commercial vehicles always stay in the centre. Is it using a point on the dashboard as a reference point to where the white lines are?
@albluaМинут бұрын
The backup camera is nice to have, but not all buses let you have it on while in motion. I don't use it as a reference for being centered; I'm using my mirrors to make sure I'm not crossing the lines

When you run the highway, which bus "seesaws" the most. IE: bumps on overpass and bridge joints, they'll make the front and back seesaw. Some are pretty good at not doing it as much, but the older one i was on would bounce us a bit on highways
@alblua3 күн бұрын
I've never had a problem with horizontal seesaw with any bus, it's more so strong wind direction changes requiring countersteer which often happens on bridges and overpasses. However, the VanHool CX45 (old and new) are the worst ride quality of all the buses I've driven; the same bumps in other models that aren't noticeable will vertically throw you out of the seat on a CX45.

The MCI J4500 and Mercedes-Benz Tourrider have steering tag axles. The Tourrider has very active steer while the J4500 has a more passive design.

Chicago speed limit is 30 MPH. If you watch the speedometer, it doesn't really exceed 30 within city limits and vehicle speed matches the flow of traffic.

Strange lift In UK ours are flat and fold outward Or like coach manufacturs Plaxton or Spanish built caetano levante made only for Nation express the accessibility ♿ lift fold out front step and then magic seats at front of coach there KZbin video off it Odyssey coach sales he awesome showing examples
@alblua6 күн бұрын
Most ADA lifts here for motorcoaches are made by a single company, Braun. They're sort of notorious for being unreliable due to the amount of sensors on them (mechanically they are very sound, electronically not so much). I really admired the Caetano Levante coaches when I visited the UK! Not only do I think they look very aesthetic, but having an ADA lift through the front door had me mindblown.

@alblua9 күн бұрын
I really appreciate the Volvo D13 having great acceleration! The Cummins X12 that's on the other motorcoaches today is really sluggish in comparison; a lot changed going from the ISX12 (which was also great acceleration) to the X12.
@jackjack61999 күн бұрын
@@alblua yes the Cummins Isx12 had good power. X12 little sluggish on climbing inclines or hills not much power. Probably due to being a smaller engine. X12 sorta fuel efficient. Volvo D13 is unit powerhouse 👏

my gear shifting is way slower than most people when riding that type of motorcycle with similar clutch system. for some reason my foot automatically wait until the right rpm before letting off the cluth. but my shifting is smooth like volvo i-Shift gearbox lol

The clutchless transmission and shift pattern is a little unconventional, but it works!

@@alblua I'd be happy to explain. I figured you probably would be travelling east or south given the area didn't look flat like IN/IL. I then tried looking for a Hampton Inn next to a Holiday Inn Express that is also at an exit 48. When that proved difficult I noticed by going frame by frame at 9:11 that the highway shield was NY and the town name began with the letter B. Furthermore, it looks like the final fuel stop was at Jim's Truck Plaza in Cheektowaga, NY. Keep the great videos coming!

do Allison transmission perform good on mountain roads compared to automated manuals like the AS tronic? I wonder if anyone ever order prevost with iShift. they probably deliver more reliable torque on mountain roads
@albluaКүн бұрын
I couldn't imagine driving an AS Tronic on mountain roads; we phased all our buses with them out before I had my CDL, so I never drove one, but apparently they tended to roll-back on inclines. It's too flat here in the Midwest, so I can't say how an Allison performs in the mountains 😅
