Bus lane abusers get caught by traffic enforcers

LTO is going to be extremely busy with all the show-cause orders being requested by various law enforcement agencies over the last few weeks.
Hopefully the penalties handed out by LTO will be heavy enough to deter people who fail to stop, or run from enforcers.
It's only a matter of time before the public information campaign has been completed, and the EDSA bus lane penalty will increase to P5,000 - with higher penalties and suspension or even revocation of license for repeat violators.

To the guy whom wrote that "bus lane is stupid" I live in Canada and we have lanes that are dedicated to just bus lanes. During rush hour. But when it's down time it's dedicated to something else parking. Bike lane, walking, some city's or towns vendors. BUT EVERYBODY has to cooperate with the rules. The dedicated bus lane does move 1k hourly 10k every few hours. Or even 100k in a day. I live on a main street in Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦 called Hastings St. And it's fricken nuts out there during rush hour. Thank God for Bus Transit. I say keep the bus lanes, and charge the heck out of the violators, 5k pesos ya that's a lot in the Philippines. That kind of violation in Vancouver is about 35k pesos. Stay in your lane. I haven't ridden a commuter bus in over 5 years, in fact I prefer riding a private vehicle but I'm fully in favor of a bus lane. For the simple reason that a commuter bus takes hundreds of people from point A to point B every single day, as opposed to a private vehicle that carries just one or two passengers. The bus lane system is not a stupid idea, it's a good system to alleviate traffic jams and not let passengers get stranded on a roadway not built to cater thousands and thousands of vehicles everyday.

Bus Lane is one of the best ideas ever, traffic was way worse with buses changing lanes to pickup and dropping off commuters. Why not add a transponder to motorcycles' registration, anyway it's cheaper to register those things. So that even if they run away a radar would easily pick them up like eh: owner of the vehicle, year make and model etc.

I've lost count of the number of times they've apprehended a rider for a random violation, like not wearing a helmet, and then they realize the bike doesn't have a plate. Those who are complaining against the implementation of Bus Lane are people who aren't always on the road on a daily basis. Comparing the traffic at EDSA nowadays , it has improved a lot. Way before the pandemic it was a nightmare because the enforcement of the bus stops wasn't that strict and buses tend to stay at bus stops more than the time limit it should. Putting the bus lane on the inner lane has also helped a lot in improving the flow of traffic in EDSA. The drivers who don't follow such a simple traffic rule are not educated enough on the importance of a dedicated lane not only for buses but for emergency vehicles. Their licenses should be confiscated by the MMDA and before they can pay the penalties for the release of their licenses, they should be subjected to traffic seminars.

Most of the bus lane still has barriers, it's just the flyovers and tunnels where they had to be removed for safety reasons. They tried putting plastic bollards, but people were literally running over them on purpose. Then they put metal bollards, but most of those were also quickly destroyed, mostly by accident.

Shoutout sa Joyride Management pasabihan nyo ang mga rider ninyong number 1 pasaway sa bus lane. Dapat isama sa driving qualification nyo ang pagsunod sa batas driver trapiko. Often, the problem stems from drivers or riders who do not follow the rules. While we can deploy a significant number of personnel, recalcitrant drivers tend to appear when they are not around. XD I used to take the bus without a dedicated bus lane, and it would consume a significant amount of time during my commute to and from work. It felt like I was working two shifts.

I didn't imagine that the bus lane is a stupid idea. Commuting everyday + traffic is a pain in the a$$ before but with the dedicated bus lane, travel time cuts it to half or some minutes. My first experience with the bus lane is when I go to my grandparents memorial but I go there on a Saturday after payday. From pitx-munoz is roughly 2hrs travel with the dedicated bus lane. Before, it's a 4-5hrs from baclaran to munoz ONLY and my destination is Novaliches bayan. That person that thinks that the bus lane is stupid maybe rich or doesn't commute at all

so after some reforms in the LTO, attending proper driving classes, taking the written exam, taking an actual driving test, etc. still there are a lot of idiots on the road. can we now say, LTO is still a failure? it starts there at the LTO, as long as there are ways that people can cheat the system, idiots will drive in our streets. And as long as the law is half-heartedly enforced, idiots will continue to be on the road. I salute the MMDA personnel for risking their lives on the road and do their best to enforce traffic laws, but that's just a small area compared to the network of roads we have in this country. imagine the total amount people pay when applying/renewing licenses and vehicle registration. that has to be in the millions per day. and yet, when did you last see LTO personnel on the streets actually doing their job of enforcing the law? when did you last see the HPG actually operate on the national roads to enforce traffic rules? anyone? why is it always the MMDA or I-ACT doing their job? where did our money go?
