I think when people say don't sell the bus, I think they really mean, don't stop posting videos on KZbin. I love your videos, if its working on a bus, taking the monkey down a bumpy road or your next chapter in your life. I hope you bring us along and look forward to the next video. Do what makes you happy, and I'm excited for the next chapter.

Emma you can say "being there done that" move it along why do people get attached to things clutch, cradle, cling, cherish. Respect that fact you get the use of of something that was fun, brought happiness to you and others also enjoyed it, you had your fill time to unload it and onto bigger and better things. Well can't wait to see what adventures you have planned Birbie will me missed but in our thoughts... Thanks for sharing.

Hi from Vancouver BC 🇨🇦 I'm 12days late commenting so likely no one will read this but No worries. I followed your bus journey and you clearly have learned alot and experienced personal growth in the process. You should be very proud of your accomplishments. Now its time for a new adventure. I wish you all the best. On a small side note: I appreciate that you care enough about the environment to pick up that crushed can/trash that someone dumped. I'm not suprised by your display of good character.

My initial response to this was sadness, then you reminded me you’re on a new season of life. And that made me happy for you because you’re an adventurer and the adventure goes on. The second response I had was I want that bus.!! It is the coolest pass my favorite color. However, I’m 71 years old and I can’t imagine mean maneuvering a bus that big around the United States doing the things that I want to do. But let’s just say somebody younger might take on the project of driving the bus!

Building Birbie has built your confidence - you set yourself a challenge and you achieved it. So what if you made mistakes, scared the c**p out of yourself, embarrassed yourself and spent way too much money; those things are what life is about. Best wishes for your next venture and I hope you take us along.🥰🥰

I think the people who get upset about you ending your bus life are just living through you and your adventures. If they had any adventures of their own, they would be excited to see what's next. I love the fact that you put everything you had into this bus for a while and are now moving on to something else. I'm currently sitting in my RV at a bike race watching this video and just excited to see where you go next! I can definitely say this has been a learning experience and you have gained a world of skills you wouldn't otherwise have right now. Go learn more cool stuff 🙂 Also, thanks for taking the time and effort to document your journey, it has been a blast to watch.

As someone that has also owned, started to renovate, and sold a bus... I understand how difficult all of it was. I also see the way it took off on social media, especially during the pandemic and how most have entirely moved away from bus/van life and onto flipping/redoing a home or plot of land. I can't or won't say I'm disappointed, because you need to do whatever you need/want to do... but I am kinda sad to see how many people back out after they gain an audience based on bus/van/reno life. Wish you the best of luck on your next endeavor!
@EmmaBuildsBirbie
@EmmaBuildsBirbie 9 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I guess I just don't really see it that way - I wanted to try something new with the bus build and happened to gain an audience while I did that. It never came from a burning passion for living on the road or tiny living, which I know is a huge motivating factor for a lot of people who do build out vehicles. I feel that I've gotten what I can get from the bus and I'm ready to try the next new thing. If that loses me the audience the bus build gained me, I think that's fair and can honestly say I'm okay with it :)

@@EmmaBuildsBirbie You have the best attitude about it. & honestly... we can all have the opinions we want, but what you do moving forward has got to be right for you! Plus, how can we know if something works or doesn't work unless we dive in a give it a shot?! Glad you've learned a lot from the bus, I know I did in my situation - cheers to the next season of life!

Hi Emma, …well, I have read every comment so far on this just released video about putting up Birbie for sale. I just wanted to give you my 100% support and a little perspective from my point of view, just about ready to celebrate my 62nd birthday on November 3rd. I am still adjusting to a major life change as I had to stop working due to lower back, hip and knee pain/degenerative issues. I have considerable mobility issues, have to ride the electric cart at WalMart etc. I have now been approved for full Social Security disability. I wish I had the opportunity to make life choices as you have at this time in your life. You are such a brave person to have done something so remarkable and out of your comfort zone such as buying and then converting this old bus into Birbie, your traveling companion! Even better for our sake, you bravely decided to allow all of us armchair experts to come along for the adventure. I have thoroughly enjoyed both your successes and failures, mostly laughing along at both. So many people, especially at your age, give in to fear and self doubt and are not willing to risk anything to experience the adventure, much less the exhilaration if you happen to accomplish your goals! If not, even thru failure much is learned. Just imagine, when your reach the stage I am now living life at, if you had not just learned (while you were still a young adult), how resilient you are even when you wanted to give up. Instead, you kept at the problem and even if the answer was not the way someone else would have resolved it, still overcame and moved forward! You will learn, young or old, we all will have some regrets but certainly yours will not include quitting at the 1st or even the 20th sign of trouble on the Birbie adventure. I do hope the negative comments some post does not overpower the overwhelming majority of your followers who truly enjoyed the adventure because of you, Birbie is awesome but you are the reason we stayed watching every week. I do hope you continue on with your channel, it has been my privilege to join you every week. I will continue to enjoy your wonderful perspective on life and your adventures as you see fit! Best of luck on your sale of Birbie, she will serve the next owner well. Michael 🤗😁

Go with your gut young lady. If it feels right then it probably is the right choice. If you decide to get rid of your bus I’d be real interested in it. I recently got my 100% disability rating from the V.A. (prostate cancer) & decided it’s time to quit driving the big rig (turning 72 in a few days) and I’m looking for a chance to travel just for me. Good luck on your new life route.

Hey Emma! My partner and I live close by you in the Farr West/North Ogden area. We have been following you since day one on your bus journey, because we were starting our 40-foot bus build right at the same time! I relate with you immensely on all the struggles and feeling like an amateur during the build, yet it always made me giggle because even though we don't know each other, I felt that we were in this together and not alone. 2 and a half years later we are deciding to sell the bus too after only traveling in it fully this summer. So, I feel you on a soulful level of how the bus life journey is, especially on the note of who's going to want to buy a bus from someone who had no idea what they were doing lol. Our journey has been very similar to yours and I thought you would find comfort in knowing a neighbor is going through the same thing, as it has for me watching your videos. Let's sell these buses lady! I'm excited for you and for what the future has in store for you. I'll be cheering you on always!

Congrats on the new rig!! Last one I had (Toyo-taco) I sold with 275k miles and it was still running strong, so good choice of rig. I currently have a newer model access cab Tacoma. Yes you can certainly get into more places than you can the bus, (especially if its 4x4) and doing so will open up a whole new world of adventures for sure :-) ask me how I know. In time a topper (one that is higher than the cab--for more head room) can be built out for weekend and longer adventures and travel. Not the room of a van, but certainly adequate for extended trips. This year I took my son to Alaska and back (I live in OH) and we boondocked it the whole trip. We have a bunk in the back, and traded off sleeping in the cab or bunk. You can also use the receiver motorcycle carrier on the truck as well again opening up more opportunities for expanded adventures by taking your lil Honda Monkey with you. I frequently pack for weekend truck camping and either throw kayak on top, or my motorcycle on the back. Lots of possibilities young lady, I am sure you will put things together to suit your next season, and hope you continue to share with us as well.

Thanks for your nice video’s! From a European perspective, we absolutely like the way you’re showing us the beautiful country you’re living in. The lakes, mountains, just roads… maybe especially those moments ... Filming from your bus, or the Monkey while driving, is to us a bit like actually being there. Might sound strange, but it is. We live a lot of the time in the south of France, which is by the way quite pretty as well… only much smaller ;-). Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ‘embarrassing’ moments, your honesty. Well appreciated! Whatever you plan to do next, wish you a lot of fun doing it!

I would have been interested in the bus 20 years ago, but my camping days are winding down at 77, but I will keep and use the camper in the spring and fall as long as I can still walk. It's your life to live, not anyone else. Reality is, based on watching other channels, is that if you depend on KZbin for income, you will have to do something that interests others, if not, then it doesn't matter in the least what you do if it pleases you....

I have the boat that I wanted for years and yet now I am wrestling with selling that too. STUFF DOES NOT EQUAL HAPPINESS... I have owned everything I have wanted to own in my life and no longer own most of it. What matters to me is my wife of almost 50 years and my two very cool adult children. It doesn't matter what is next, just enjoy it while you are in the midst of it. I am so proud of you for being so bold and courageous!! You have taught me much and I really do appreciate you. I hope not to lose you in the transition. Thank you Emma.

I personally wouldn’t get rid of the bus, but this is your life young lady so you live it how you see fit! Thank you! You for letting us follow you on some of your adventures and I hope you keep posting. If I had the money, I’d buy Birbie in a heartbeat. LOL it would save me the pain of building my own. Lol. Good luck to you whatever it is you chose to do! ❤ Blessings and be safe.

I will miss the bus, but I know you have gained a lot of skills in the process. I have seen you grow emotionally as you concorded problems and worked through them. I have enjoyed watching you go on your trips. It is your life, you have to do things that make you happy and feel fulfilled. Don't worry about what the naysayers say, go live your life and be happy. I can't wait to see what comes in the next chapter from you. :)

This is so relatable. I'm building a bus house to live in bc house prices are ridiculous, but I'm mostly planning on keeping it put. The process has been completely overwhelming at times, but I've grown so much in just a few months. Planning on building a house in a couple years too.

Emma. I love your videos. You need to do what makes you happy...change is good. I will be 72 next month and have done lots of things in my life. About every 5 yrs I make a major change. I am in the process of building a short bus and will start my nomadic life as soon as its done and I sell everything. I cant wait to see what you are going to do next. Dont worry about what others think. Be true to yourself. Be safe out there and God bless.

Hi Emma, the view from what I assume is your new plot of land somewhere in Utah is just beautiful. The truck looks fun to drive. I like fat books, too - what were you reading, I wondered. As your virtual grandma, I want to give you a big virtual hug and say you are so brave and confident as you take on this "next (bigger, scarier) move" - HOORAY FOR YOU!!!!! I'm so proud and excited for you!!!! Of course, I am sad to see the pretty blue bus go to its new owners. And, on behalf of your mother, I hope you hang those curtains she made for Birbie before you turn over the keys 🙂 Will your tiny house (assuming this is the new Big Project) be named Birbie Two? Oh, and P.S. -- sure, sure there are lots of people on KZbin that are going from vans or buses or RVs to homesteading of some sort. I don't think of your channel as a "nomad" channel and I doubt I'll consider your next phase as a "homesteading" channel. I watch you because you inspire and encourage me to get out of my own comfort zone and move forward in life. Even if I don't get things perfect. Thank you.

Emma, I am a little sad that you are selling the bus but I understand you have to do what is right for you. You were my inspiration for buying and starting a bus conversion. My end goal is quite a bit different though, I'm building an RV that is wheelchair accessible so I went with a forward lift and a dog nose so I can get my chair right up to the steering wheel. I won't be living in it just regular RV stuff and a mobile clubhouse for my Ham Radio buddies. I wish you the very best in whatever your next chapter is and hopefully you will bring us all along for the ride. 73 (best wishes) from Wes AE0OC

Emma you've got to do what's right for you. You took the time to buy your bus take it completely apart as a school bus and you turned it into a rolling home for yourself and the bus looks and it's totally cool looking as one of your viewers I'm here to tell you you've done a great job with the bus build. But if you feel it's time to move on and try something new then go for it. Just please keep making your Videos I for one really enjoy watching your adventures. Oh you sale the bus but keep the motorcycle the bus is good but I really like your little motorcycle. Nice truck as well. 👍👍👍 Hope to see more of your videos soon.
