Bus Observations of Boston, Massachusetts (May 2021) - Part 1/2

Silver Line is a Bus Rapid Transit mode done in an uncharacteristic way as compared to the many whom have tried and FAILED!... and those who done it properly like Mexico City and Santiago de Chile. The Silver Line is divided into two sections with the 𝙒𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙤𝙣 Street (SL4 & SL5) service operating on-street in an "enhanced limited-stop" BRT-form. The original and most interesting service operates along it's own dedicated right-of-way under South Boston's financial/exhibition district(?) via the 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙮 (✈SL1/SL2/SL3) tunnel. The branches from this section link to the Logan International Airport (✈SL1); the Drydocks (SL2); and Chelsea (SL3).
They currently (as of 2021) operate an unconventional dual-mode trolleybus that receives "electric" power from the overhead catenary wires within the tunnel and "diesel fuel" entirely beyond the Silver Line Way station... but, the battery electric vehicle age is taking centerfold and would likely replace the trolleybus completely, as we see from the six New Flyer XE60 electric articulated buses operating alongside the Neoplan AN-460LF ETBs.

There also used to be a former SL3 route to City Point but the service was discontinued in March 2009.
