Thank you very much for the commentary on these videos. As a blind bus user I love to see the videos and your commentary means I know which buses are which not just a load of colour and engine noises.

What a cool surprise! I saw myself with my Christmas hat near the very end of the video on the double decker 251 bound for Hammond Street. I've never met you in person but thought it was your channel that day, really cool that I was right :) Waltham Cross is pretty good for bus destinations and good variety, I just wish Arriva and Metroline were more reliable and much more frequent for their Hertfordshire routes, they're really infrequent after 6 to 7pm and on Sunday, such a huge dropoff and broken links in services compared to London.

Another superbly shot and narrated and indeed very welcome video Peter. Quite a remarkable variety of vehicles and liveries. The last time I was in Waltham Cross was about twelve or thirteen years ago when I had been visiting a friend in Waltham Abbey who drove me in his car to WX so that I would have the undoubted pleasure of travelling on a 279 almost the full length of the route back to South Tottenham.
@BristolRE Жыл бұрын
Thank You, not sure riding a 279 can be classed as 'pleasure', lol
@Queensburyheights Жыл бұрын
@@BristolRE OK OK, perhaps travelling almost the full length of the 279 is more correctly described as an endurance test.

Definitely looked like a lively night at the terminus! The 279 was the busiest of the lot, there was already a throng queuing to board the instant the doors opened.

What was Arriva the shires was put under the management of Arriva Midlands several years ago. Vehicles are moved around the fleets on a regular basis so that is probably why you saw the one from Staffordshire.

I hope it's not too late to say but, does your bus company accept drivers from overseas with overseas experience?
@BristolRE Жыл бұрын
They will accept anyone passes their assessment, and who has the appropriate requirements, ie a car licence valid in the UK, can speak and write English and the right to work in the UK.

Do you think the 279 is too long a route considering all the traffic it encounters?
@BristolRE Жыл бұрын
It may be, but a lot of people do travel from the Waltham Cross end to Seven Sisters so shortening the route would be a massive inconvenience. More bus lanes that are properly enforced would help
