I remember the 279 when it ran on routemaster buses..and on some journeys it used to run to Hammond Street in Cheshunt. I remember those journeys all those years ago! Great video Peter

Great video Peter! Did the Enviro 400s on route 279 use to operate on route 102? I remember there used to be Enviro 400s on 102 with yellow blinds, but I guess they use different depots

I've read that Arriva plans to sell up by the end of 2024. I hope whatever companies buy it keep the polo shirts. Metroline had polos a few years ago, wonder why they got rid of them. They're a good candidate to buy Arriva London North anyway

I hate reversing in Waltham Cross, half the bays are painted wonky, you line the bus up nice and straight on one side and on the other side you're way off.

Not sure - the 217 buses don't either. The 217 is operated by Sullivan Buses and their logo doesn't match TfL requirements, but the 317 is Metroline and cannot see any reason why their logo isn't displayed

The body damage on that E200 MMC at the start was disgraceful. That's what happens when you let pirate bus companies in the game. It will always make me wonder just how some drivers manage to damage buses. I'm into my 21st year as a bus driver and I've never done any worse than clip the odd nearside mirror off a tree branch. In all fairness the buses all over the UK suck. I bloody hate Alexander Dennis garbage, a blight on the roads and what helped get the old Volvo and Scania buses out the way while all this newer cheap crap moved in. There's nothing good about an Enviro.
