Wow! One of the the most enjoyable KZbin videos, ever. Lots of memories and emotions. We had 4 or 5 vw vans when I was growing up in the 60’s. One of the first vehicles I ever drove was a vw van. ( the actual first vehicle I drove was an Econoline) I went on my senior trip in a vw camper van. (5 guys, we thought we were hippies, well, we did act like hippies) Great music and great video, thanks for the memories.

Ah doheney. What a pleasurable video. This is where for several years we’d show up in my ‘49 mercury woody, pay the $5 entrance fee to the park, and enjoy all the woodies. Someday perhaps these transporters will grow up to be true woodies. Hah! Just kidding. These V-Dubs are all very nice specimens. Wishing I hung onto the sixty-eight bus I owned back in the seventies. That 'microbus' is almost three times as old as the drivers.........and still on the road! About fifteen years ago, I saw a VW Westphalia with California plates off road on the sand at Coffee Harbor, NSW Australia. Couldn't see where the owner was but there were surfers out on the waves. ENVY!!

Those were the good times! Volkswagen catered for the bare necessities of transport by building simple, yet reliable cars for the general public, from factory worker to tradesman to teacher and doctor! That changed in the early 1980s, when the first generation Golf (called the Rabbit in the US) was succeeded by the second generation. Since then, Volkswagen has lost contact to its customer base!
