Skimmed Wikipedia about Dayton's trolleybuses: RTA routes 1 thru 5 plus 7 and 8 are trolley bus lines but lately use a mix of diesel and trolley buses. Only 35 of the 54 trolleybuses delivered in the 1990s still run. RTA in January settled on ordering just 26 new trolleybuses from Kliepe, which took over Vossloh which supplied the 4 prototypes. Intriguing to see overhead twin wires along transit routes but grievous to see diesel buses on those routes.

Given that trolley wires were still above ground, I presume trolleys still run on Dayton streets. I have never travelled to Dayton, Ohio. Can anyone confirm or refute my presumption? (-:

I think that the bike rack is a really useful feature, too bad the buses here in germany come without them..

The bike racks are very useful when traveling on with a bike, bike racks typically holds up to two bikes. And make sure you secure the bikes so they wouldn't fall off the bus while in motion.

Why are they running noisy, stinking diesels under all those fine trolley wires? A diesel bus isn't nice to ride on, and it's not interesting to look at. And they'll never make a battery big enough to handle a loaded transit bus.

Actually that’s where you’re wrong now. The 1990s trolleys are all gone and replaced with new nexgens trolleys which can run quite a distance off wire and are now used widely. And did I mention they no longer let construction become an issue because those buses can go off wire and around. They run them on 1 now and dewire for the beavercreek look. Look into it.
