My Grandmother and all (4) of her kids worked at the Greyhound Post House in Gilman, IL These buses bring back some good memories. I can remember riding in a Flexible to take swimming lessons 18 miles away. Love your videos. Safe travels.

Blytheville took a big hit when Eaker Air Force Base closed in 1992. Nice to see the bus rally has such a large following.
@1982MCI4 жыл бұрын
I was at another base down in that area at the time and our whole mntc squadron was shut down and 1200 of us were shipped out around the world to other bases in need at the time. I was lucky and went to Eglin AFB in Ft Walton Beach Fl. I really enjoyed that assignment and wish I was still there. But it was sad days for many others as well as the local economies that suffered thru the shutdowns. I was stationed with several other guys that had been at Blytheville before and most of my inlays are from ark

I have a plastic model of an MCI Greyhound with the original box. It's a coin bank. I have lots of Corgi Transit buses as well. Most are GM Old Look buses, but I have one Fishbowl in New York livery.

Great video of the parade, I liked the shot of the buses going under the Blytheville Arch. The only thing old of done with out which was completely beyond your control was the continual wail of the Police car siren just didn’t think it was necessary but I think cops today use them far to much just because they can stepping down of my soapbox. All in all it looked like there was a nice turn out of busses for the rally.

I’d love to go to one of these. I’m too busy trying to make a living with a motorcoach to enjoy the history and nostalgia of them. A lot of young boys took their last civilian ride on one of those old coaches. The entry door would swing open at a Paris Island, SC and a Drill Instructor absolutely full of Satan himself would take over from there. Next time they got on a civilian bus they were nowhere near the same person.

I love these old buses. I used to commute to work on one of those scenic cruisers back in 1973. It took about 55 minutes or more to go about 15 miles because we stopped about two dozen times at bus stops. Today in commute traffic it probably still takes about 55 minutes or more by car! Lol 😔

Hi Scott, Enjoy looking through ALL of your bus video fixups. Has to be a lot of extra work trying to video all the stuff you get into,,,back in the crevices,,etc. Wonder if you have ever seen any old video clips of Elvis' bus when he had an old bus he criss crossed the country? Don't remember what model,or year it was . Elvis used to drive it almost exclusivly himself when his entourage went from memphis out to the coast to shoot a movie. I seen where that bus just resold about 2-3 years ago. That would be a cool one to have just for the history. Thanks again.
