What a great video. When I’m not out practising Bushcraft, I’m often watching other people on KZbin to learn. You clearly ooze knowledge and experience in your subject with a great commentary to help people understand what you were doing. Truly enjoyed watching you craft that chair. However I had to stop for a break once you started cooking that steak because you made me really hungry. Even if it was a shamble in a grubby mitt 😆LOL thanks for sharing 👍

Ha thanks. Hope your steak turned out better than mine 🙂

Just found this as I was looking for inspiration... and you have been. I enjoyed your presentation, it was very reminiscent of forces banter. I will be back and I am hoping to create something like that chair at the Bushcraft show later this month. (not sure I have the wrist strength though) thanks, mate.

Hi Chris, that's great to hear, thanks 🙂 I've made these chairs before using paracord to replace withys. Just need to cut the hazel slats and a sturdy tripod and lash it all together.

great video and great tip with the hole under the fire.. i dont often see videos where people twist the wood back onto itself like e rope .in norway they used that same technique to bind fences and stuff and altso as type of wood carabiner (Vidjespenning)
@joes_craft7 ай бұрын
Thanks! I think the twisted withy must be an extremely ancient technique in many places around the world 🙂

Great video Joe, looking forward to more. Which model / make is your rucksack? Looks like an old moded Berghaus. Cheers Rd
@joes_craft7 ай бұрын
Thanks Ed! It's a homemade/upcycled rucksack. I rescued an old Berghaus Cyclops Roc just as it was about to be launched into a skip by it's owner. Re-used the straps, buckles and made the rest of it up from brown cordura and other bits and bobs. Here's a few pics instagram.com/p/CQ-rH7AhcGA/ instagram.com/p/CO6WsqdhsLy/
