Kioti's are tough, and excellent tractors. I actually like running a bushhog and have since 14ish some 35ish years. Tie down under bushhog way to go, seems like your doing great getting started, I know everyone is gonna cry but remember safety safety safety 1000's of "farm" accidents happen every year because most everything we do is with machinery or just dangerous. Stay safe and God bless

Love the brush hogging on grown fields like that. Now that you can see where you are, it would be nice to cut all along the edge of the fields and clear it out as well. I always worried with my farm when I first bought it that if I didn't get all that growth cut back as far as I could, I would end up losing all the edges of my fields to growth too big to cut. Once it is done well 1 time, it only needs done again about every other year. That is tough work but enjoyable. it is instant gratification to see the difference in looks when you are done.

So true! I was lost most of the time. It was a great feeling to see the progress. There are a few sections along the border of the property that I still need to cut down. Once I get that done I think it will be much easier to manage. Thank you

I use a flail mower with hammer blades. Sure the first pass the tractor is breaking ground but the remainder passes you throw the mower to the side and you drive on cut weeds.

I haven’t had it long enough to have used it in the wet weather yet. That was one of my concerns. But I actually heard the same about a wooden deck when it’s wet/muddy so I’m sure they both have their issues. I’m glad I bought the steel deck, for the less maintenance required.

Awesome & Ouch (the grill guard). That was some serious bush hogging you were doing!!! As you were plowing through there I was thinking there is no telling what you could end up coming across, a big rock, old tree stump, chunks of concrete.... But I wasn't thinking about snakes, at about chest height!!! Definitely a little bit in the bush I'd say. Looks like the Kioti and the BH did well though, that looked to be really thick brush and good size young trees to be hoggin' through. That would have taken you days to clear without the Kioti. The next time you go over that area it should be a lot easier on the BH, though probably just as bumpy and rough on you (but that is part of taming your new property as I am sure you are enjoying). As soon as you said the pond guy showed up while you were tending to your equipment, I said ooohhh nooooo, course I had the benefit of you title (was afraid it was going to be worse). Glad to here it really only affected the grill guard, looks like Kioti did a good job of making the guard weak enough near the mount that it suffered all the damage. That could have gotten really expensive if the loader or frame under the guard mount had suffered. I'll just keep figuring that Kioti designed it that way on purpose.... The good news is you likely won't do that again any time soon, course now you will probably be constantly looking and checking that the guard is fully in place..... I know I would, LOL!! That's great that moving the tractor back some on the trailer worked so well, and that you marked the location for when you have the BH on the Kioti, that will definitely make loading it easier and faster (and maybe more enjoyable....probably not but...). Loading can be sooo finicky with large equipment where the weight is not nice and evenly distributed. And that the binders worked well under the BH, cause I have run straps and chains in places that I think will work till you start tightening things down and go..... that is going to now hurt something else.... Glad that helped though. This way the BH can look nice and pretty on top and beat itself up underneath, LOL. I agree with your thoughts on the BH's back wheel, a foot or so off the back, should be fine... the rest of the BH is bright orange, like it's own flag! Hopefully the guard doesn't cost you too much and Kioti can get it for you soon, that is one of the biggest problems right now... I would guess that if you mount the Backhoe, you'll need to go all the way forward till the front bucket is at the front rail of the trailer, maybe even further forward as the Backhoe is quite a bit heavier than the BH. You'll just have to play with it a little. And now you have a good feeling for what the truck feels like with good tongue weight and maybe a little more than is ideal, so you'll know pretty quick if you should adjust it or not. I always try to lift the tongue of the trailer on the ball after everything is tied down to make sure it has a good amount of weight on it, not sure I can tell when it is too much, but it is easy to tell when you definitely don't have enough!!!! If the trailer ever starts swaying from side to side, DO NOT hit your brakes, get on the gas pedal to pull the trailer faster and grab the trailer brake controller to apply on the brakes to the trailer, then you can ease off the gas and use the trailer brake controller to slow you down, not your trucks brakes. Once under 30 or 40, you should be able to use the trucks brakes to get to a safe place to stop, and move things forward on the trailer to get more tongue weight. (I may have already posted this and/or you may already know this, if so great, and maybe it will help someone else out there). Glad the Kioti and you are still basically in one piece, and at least it's not your grill that is all bent up!!!! just the Kioti's!! Really enjoyed the video, looking forward to the next. Till then, have yourself a good vacation!! Okay, now I am interested in seeing how much of a difference the backhoe is going to make on the loading position..... what is wrong with me, LOL!!! (too much work this week, getting me behind on KZbin videos....)

Thanks so much. Yeah the weeds were so tall that I couldn’t even tell where I was going until I got a perimeter mowed down. Now that I’ve done the whole property, I have a good feel for the land and mostly know where the hazards are. I never expected to see a snake chest high! Startled me to say the least! What’s funny is that I actually caught it on video. Good timing ha! Hopefully from now on I won’t have to work the BH so hard. It really did a great job and I was very pleased with the BH and the Kioti. The brush guard was a bummer. That was all my fault but you’re right, it could have been worse for sure. It will be a little while before I load the tractor with the backhoe but I’m also anxious to see how/where I need to load it on the trailer. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned to see what happens with the brush guard situation!

You are gonna find out really fast that you didn’t buy a enough tractor for all task you are performing & for the acreage you have. If you value your time. Also, older Iron is much better than New Iron. It’s much heavier, runs cooler and doesn’t have all the EPA crap or the 1200 or so safety sensors on it. good luck!

I’m old and I know how tractor should be built and I’m sorry to say this but Id rather have a Ford 8 n that’s 50 years old than the tractor shown here . I bought a 35 HP John Deere 830 made in Mannheim Germany its almost 50 years old and for less than $3,000 I have a lot of room for repairs but funny thing is so far only neglected maintenance is only thing I have needed . The old JD is built like they should be , yep some parts can be challenging like the tachometer gauge that’s unavailable but what the heck it doesn’t effect bush hogging. I would suggest that this guy buy an older tractor and Bush hog and run the snot out of it and use this Korean made tractor for front end loading and such .Not knocking the guy here he seems like a great dude but the quality of tractors 25 or 30 years ago will never return.

I would love to have an old Ford for certain tasks, like bush hogging. Those things are monsters and reliable. I grew up riding my grandfather’s Ford tractor. It’s probably still running somewhere! But hopefully that type of bush hogging was a one-time deal. I hope I can stay on top of the land now that I’m the new owner. I will say that I am happy with my Kioti. Trailer jacks on the rear or a must because if you’re parked on a hill and you pull the tractor on the entire truck and trailer will take off down the hill and you will travel much further and faster than you think before you get back of the trailer hopefully then at that point you don’t flip over I have the same trailer and luckily lived through all of that
