This one looked just a little cold but for an experienced woodsman just another day in the woods . Very nice outing my friend this is the weather that separates the men from boys.🥶

Hi Steven, it was nice and toasty. Winter camping in the snow has been my favourite since I wee lad. It's so peaceful and beautiful, you just want to go run and play in it. Activity keeps you warm and then when you settle in, there’s a nice warm fire to keep you cozy. Thanks for coming along mate.

Nature will provide the backdrop, we just have to show up and do our part. Indeed , there’s nothing like a hot stew on a cold day.

That seems like a load of dead animals for a vegetarian! 😆 Love the content, as usual your trips bring us all along on the journey. I paused half way through to make a coffee, then joined in with you. Winter days like that are my favourite. The weather's cooling off here and I'm itching to be off (4 weeks until the holidays). Hope the peace was a tonic for your soul. Love from NZ

Hello mate, well, we don't need to eat animals to survive, and I would only kill one in a survival situation. However, the Sami tribe literally survive on Reindeer, that's why I got my pelt. I also don't see anything wrong with using products of an animal postmortem, yet I would never use the fur of an animal that was killed chiefly for its hide. You got it exactly, I simply film my adventure unscripted, so it is as close to the real thing as you can get without being there. I'm just bringing my camera along for the adventure and you all get to experience it vicariously. Winter days are my favourite. I'm looking forward some photos of your upcoming adventures. Nice to hear from you John, Kind regards

Hello from northern Illinois. Nice video. I think I’m going to be watching more of your stuff. The bed you used looked like it was hand made. Have you camped there before? I like your equipment. That was quite a load you were carrying. Did you have a sleeping bag or just a blanket? The stew looked delicious. If you don’t mind my asking, what area are you in, just in general. Kind of a ballpark idea. Just to get a feel for area you are camping in. No problem, if you’d rather not say. Take care and enjoy 😉, I know I enjoy watching your videos. 😊👍 And, God bless!

Hello mate, yes a previous camp where I made the bed again of time, I have put the link below. Well, if you look when I wake up in the morning I'm pulling off my Hudson’s Bay Six Point 100% Wool blanket, so no sleeping bag. Yes, the stew was tasty! Equipment: I prefer old school. I'm presently in the North East States. For further inquiry message me on Instagram. I am glad you reached out and I'm sure we will have so great conversations. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers Steven I'm Càrn Solo Bushcraft Adventure: A Woodland Amenity- Raised Bed kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5SbY4qleMykmaM

@@TheLoreofBushcraft Carn, nice to meet you. I too like “old school”. There are some other videos I watch that are old school . One guy is in England and another in Sweden, as well as the States. Glad to ad you to the list. I did see your wool blanket and was curious if there was a bag in there also. I do like the area you’ve been in in the two videos I watched. I’ll check out the link you sent. I plan on watching all your previous videos. You have a good day and enjoy the 4th of July. 👍 Steven

@@TheLoreofBushcraft Yes its very beautiful. its so different to see these types of trees in the winter. Since im from Finland im so used to seeing mainly pine trees in cold climates. So to not see any pine trees in a cold climate was a bit of a shock to me :D

Interesting, there are plenty of deciduous trees here, even a Pine and Spruce forest a few kilometres away. In the 1700-1800's these forest were all Walnut, but they cut and shipped them all to England to build Ships and replanted Maple and White Oak. There are a few Spruce around that area I filmed in but the were dead from disease, so I cut them down and used them as firewood. The tree I fell is Spruce.

Hello Canadian, glad to hear you're enjoying the craft. The thing about KZbin as with any business do you have to pay to promote. All successful and some unsuccessful KZbinrs promote their channel through Google Ads and that's where all the views come from initially. But once you get a good following, it will help views, but you still have to promote it order to raise views thereby making your video more attractive. 100,000 subscribers doesn't mean a hundred thousand views. During the lockdown I thought it would be nice to have something I love to do and get paid for it, I didn't know that you had to pay so much money to grow your channel. I simply thought if it was good content it would grow on its own through networking. It's not about how good you content is, it's about how much money you're willing to spend to promote it. I would be out in the woods enjoying myself anyway, so I might as well film it and throw it on KZbin to share with all the outdoor enthusiasts out there, without laying out all that money. Welcome to my unsponsored, unscripted, true adventures mate.

Did you get cold at all during the night? I bet those furs were nice and warm. Looked like a great outing. Thanks for the video brother
@TheLoreofBushcraft
@TheLoreofBushcraft 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, actually no I didn't. I had multiple logs that I put on top of other logs that burnt out throughout the night keeping me warm. Plus, I had that 6-point Hudson Bay blanket and my arctic coat on. To be honest the fur don't really do much, save for a protective layer against conduction. Wrapped on my body obviously they would do better than I was just sleeping mat. Nothing works better than a Therm-a-rest X-Therm Neo-Air sleeping pad, or for Bushcraft dry grass/straw

Why chop down a tree? The fallen and the dead are already lying nearby?!
@TheLoreofBushcraft
@TheLoreofBushcraft 2 жыл бұрын
Mate, that was a dead standing tree. It was not alive. If you notice it was an Evergreen/Conifer. Also you need a Conifer to start your log fire, then you throw on (as you can see) the Maple I threw on top of them. All of these trees were dead, and a live tree would be too moist and you couldn't get a fire started.
