Thanks for the tricks and tips, Susanne! - For everyone considering buying a Jerven bag: The bag with non-detachable insulation liner takes quite long to dry out after a night's sleep in it (as a bivy sack). Jerven (outer) bags are made from non-breathable material, so all condensation collects between outer bag and liner or inside the liner. The model with detachable liner should dry out much faster, it is somewhat heavier though. For a single night it doesn't make much of a difference, but for several nights in a row, I'd recommend to get a model with detachable liner. Or a vapor barrier sack/suit may be indicated in order to keep the liner dry and fully functional.

Yep I agree. We had it in the comments below too. I would really consider spending the extra and getting the version where you can take the liner out. Many many advantages. not least that it will dry much faster. You can then also have a tarp and blanket setup. I had the version with the zipped out liner in Hardangervidda in -47c. There it was a different story because the vapour froze before it reached the Jervenbag. Even then it is much better with the zippable liner. If Ice does build up between the liner and the insulation it is easily removed. It is totally worth the extra weight.

Very interesting. It good to see a a clear explanation. I have been looking for one of these, UK import has been difficult, but now there are outlets. I like this set up.

Hi Susanne Awesome demo great equipment it is so versatile, you failed to mention how beneficial the beer was. Colin

Bush Craft - Benefits of proper Bavarian Beer are so epic I felt unqualified to comment. ❤️. There is a law here that means that the Beer is allowed to have only the 4 sscred ingredients. Water. Hops. Yeast. Barley or Wheat.

Hello Susanne. Jerven makes some really nice products. I appreciate that you share how you use the bag with your hammock. I have used a similar bag as an under quilt for my hammock. Works pretty good :) Thanks - Martin

Thanks for the video. I am considering the moutain serape or the jerven bag. I would probably get the jervenbag hunter with the primaloft. I believe that one cannot be zipped out like yours. Looking to take it during long hikes with the family in various environments. I'd like to also use this as a blanket in the car. Would this be suitable/comfortable? does the primaloft feel like the inside of a sleeping bag?

You are truly one amazing woman. Your explanations are very precise. I am to old to use all the knowledge you have shared. I do have a few questions . How did you do on your skiing completion. Your English is so excellent , what country are you from and What is your day job. Feel free to decline to answer if you wish, I will still continue to watch and enjoy your vids. Thank you for sharing.

john OLDONEKANOLE Hey - I went for the world record but got in a world record storm for 4 days. Video to come about that. -30c. 50mph winds. Epic. I am half English and half German. 😎 My day job is being a wilderness and business guide. Essentially the same thing, just the terrain is different. Thanks for asking! 👍
