On top of it they tied the mule to a tree with barely any move to forage for food. Even when they tied it on the green rope still not enough they've got plenty of rope to let it roam whilst not working.

Getting there, Rome wasn't built in a day but that Roman pizza using foraged food, except the cheese, looked good enough to eat. Your pony is doing well, it will not be too long before he gets used to pulling weight, you can take off the harness on his rear end, that is used for breaking when going down gradients while pulling a cart, he only needs his collar for pulling.

it keeps the pulling ropes off the ground better when they are slack so less likely for the bugger to get tangled up in them;)

Great to watch you guys work together, I built a Saxon thatched roundhouse in Suffolk a few years ago, so I know how much work it takes! I’ve noticed a different video style in this series, lovely camera work but very little talking to us, the viewers. Many might lime it, but I wish you’d talk to your viewers more, like you have in previous videos, tell us what your plan is and what you’re doing at each stage. As a viewer it can feel like we’re on the outside looking in, rather than part of the team.

Just suggestion, keep some clean fresh water where you tie up the animal, (wasn't sure if its a horse or a mule) and train it by giving snacks at the end of each round, so that it knows it is praised and paid for its services. I have an idea that might help improve yur sleigh a bit. The two bottom pieces seem to be wearing out pretty quickly, but even if they weren't that could be an improvement. How about attaching another pair of sticks with pegs? That way the main structure will be a bit higher so moving through stones and roots will be easier. Also if the prices at the very bottom are destroyed from the friction while dragging them through the forest, they can easily be replaced. Nice progress on the roundhouse by the way keep it up👍🏻❤️

Foundation for main structure. When he pulled the over cooked pottery out of the fire place, he threw it in the trench. At which time he said the words " foundation ritual "
@daos33004 жыл бұрын
drainage. a pile of rocks thrown into a ditch isn't a good foundation for anything. it won't properly support dry stone walls so i'm guessing they'll be building wattle & daub. dry stone is more demanding and requires more skill.
@SmoothGefixt4 жыл бұрын
lol wait and see;)
@onanysundrymule31444 жыл бұрын
@@SmoothGefixt Haha, the suspense. I'm guessing the rock filled ring ditch (a) forms a soak away 'ring' to prevent inflow from adjoining ground surface during downpour, and (b) acts as a guaranteed dry 'stepping' or footing for the 'tepee' main pole structure, preventing wet rot in the 'grounded' pole ends. Hope that is not spoiling any future revelations. Have you got a simple PayPal thing that I can contrib through (to keeping simple for a non techy). If not can you set one up? Can't wait till you two decide to build a Broch (hint for the future). Kind regards.

@SmoothGefixt4 жыл бұрын
thomas' desires are to rule over mule country with unlimited carrots and lots of horses (he thinks hes one of them) and no fences (maybe the odd one to break just for sport ). anything else he will try to run from. he was unwanted where he priviously was, and now being on a farm, he needs to earn his keep... its very little work for him and he is off in the fields with his buddies for the majority of the time... unlimited food and water.. Hes very instinctive and young still... this is his first ever job and its still training for him... nothing we do to him compares with how animals teach eachother...!
