Outstanding review, my good friend! You did an excellent job reviewing a very cool knife! Loved hearing your knife philosophies and your usage was spot on for showing its capabilities. Great stuff comes out of Bushcraftoutfitter/BCUSA...I've been using their 10x10 tarp for years and it's top notch. Your cooking was great, as always, and it was nice to see some winter footage mixed in! One of your best vids, brother! -Dave

Enjoyed the video review. That blade shape is reminiscent of my Lagom Bush Knife also made by LTWHK. All of LT's knives come with sharp 90° spines, the best in the business imho.
@MegaWoodswalker

I suspect it’s the same blade profile. Been getting knives from LT when they were Blind Horse Knives. I remember the 20 dollar recycled saw blade stock neck knives they sold. I miss the monthly special videos he and Dan put out. Was kinda sad about them parting ways however seemed to workout in the end. Still I do miss those videos.

Awesome content as usual Broski! I've been diggin your videos for quite awhile now. I do the same stuff in my neck of the woods(pun definitely intended😂)& similarly it seems to me you like the challenges & figuring your way through them as much as I do. Did you ever serve in any branch of the Military? I joined the USMC a little later in my life than is the norm(28y.o.)& it fed right into my passion for the outdoors, firearms, self reliance & preparedness. Just wondering if that may have had any influence on your Bushcraft/outdoorsman skills? It's always amused me how so many people feel that hiking/trekking & camping are just too hard; too much work to be enjoyable. Those kind of folks just don't understand... That's the main reason I really like your stuff here on KZbin, you just "get it". Your home base is in NY State if I'm correct? I live in Norfolk VA currently but am originally from Western MD(the extreme NW corner near WVA/PA)& grew up in the woods with the Appalachian Trail only about a 1/2 mi out my back door. Anytime you're looking for another camping buddy I'd be willing to make the drive North to MD/PA or even up your way for another AT excursion. It's always a good time to make a new friend & share experiences, learn new stuff etc

I like the knife but not the price. Also O1 is not the best steel for me because I like a more wet environment. But 185 dollar for a simple and small O1 tool steel knife is a very high price even with the nice leather sheath. For food prep I always prefer a stainless steel knife. I love my Brisa/Enzo Elver that has about the same dimensions but half the price and is Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel with a G10 handle. I'm a 2 knife guy but don't bring an ax or saw usually. But the smaller (food prep) knife has to be capable of doing some light batoning in case you lose the other knife. But I REALLY like the way you review. Very basic tasks and a relaxed way of demonstrating. So kudo's for the way you review.

Enzo is really good. Have a 115mm Trapper in 12c27 which is another steel I like. Some people bust on stainless but I think this is based on ignorance or bad experiences with cheap imported poor quality and/or poorly manufactured (heat treat etc etc) stainless junk knives so they just assume it's all bad. Thanks for watching!
@stevanoutdoor
@stevanoutdoor 5 жыл бұрын
@@MegaWoodswalker That could very well be true most of all for the USA maybe? The China import. I live in The Netherlands, so I grew up with knives 'made in Solingen' and SAK's, Mora, EKA and other European stuff and most of that is in good stainless steel. In the USA they make great knives but a lot of them in 1095 and when it comes to 'bushcraft' knives almost always in O1. I prefer 1095 over O1 in most uses also because the 1095 knives I have all have a coating.
@MegaWoodswalker
@MegaWoodswalker 5 жыл бұрын
I also a small necker type knife from brusletto called Balder. Great little 12c27. Have many Mora and SAK knives as well. Yes cheap poorly manufactured imported knives have basically flooded the USA market IMHO. I am glad that Mora is gaining in popularity.
@stevanoutdoor
@stevanoutdoor 5 жыл бұрын
@@MegaWoodswalker My first Mora is 40+ years old. But also have Brusletto. Many good knives out there. I love to be on the coast (I live at the coast) or in the jungle. I've seen all that there is to see in the boreal forest. That BushcraftUSA knife in 12C27 and for 100 dollars max would be an option.

That’s a very cool looking knife. I find myself using smaller knives more than the big ones. All my knives are stainless steel, I like the ease of maintenance. If I ever get a carbon steel knife, it will be used for everything but food processing.........(Food for thought, you could get a side job shaving women’s legs 🦵😁😎🤓) ......The one thumbs down, probably uses taco sauce as an after shave.......

LOL! I use stainless Mora and a Enzo 115mm trapper all the time. Nothing wrong with a good quality SS knife.
