A bit of a long-winded explanation on this group's winner, but I learned something interesting about handle design that will warrant further experimentation in the future. SCIENCE O.o

Did Hults Bruks discontinue the american felling Axe? I don't see it or the 3 1/2Lb agdor montreal axe either in the HB catalog

The thing I've learned is the thinner ground axe will always out cut the thicker grind, no matter the maker. The difference in quality comes down to how small an angle the axe can support before it fails from normal cutting, though rarely does anybody dare to thin their axes to a level where damage occurs except from misuse. That agador looked like it was cutting twice as well as the others. I prefer a straight handle, i think its more instinctive and helps the brain guide the axe.

Glad to see you in better spirits today bud. I can’t imagine how tough things have been. I’m rooting for ya :) I’ve been enjoying this series tremendously. You’re making one hell of a statement using all of these collectible and expensive axes. I respect it. There might only be, what was it “15 people”, I’m one of those people and I want to thank you for taking the time to do this. Your technique has taken a dramatic change for the better! I agreed with everything you had to say in this video. It’s interesting what happens when you start chopping more. I was so surprised to see the 17.5 degree angle on the agdor!! It’s incredible eh?! Having to touch it up after use isn’t really a bad thing. I consider that regular wear. It’s suggested to have a 25 degree roll at the edge for strength which you can always try later. I’m just so glad you got to see it for yourself. Take care :)

I love straight handles. If you mention it in the groups, people will make fun if you and tell your your nuts. I say the proof is in the pudding. The real question is........... where did you get those pants?

Racing axes have a huge palm swell, but they are very heavy axes. Around 6lb, so I guess its about keeping hold of them.
