Great review. I am going to pull the trigger on this product. If it's charging the power bank & phone at 5W as advertised then it's perfect for off-grid camping as a homeless whistle-blower investigator. I have a small solar panel and large metal fire pit. But I don't burn campfires all day. Especially in summer. Our Temps drop down to 70s & 60s in Vermont so this would be perfect for brewing coffee ☕, hot soup, pasta, and a quick charge in winter mornings. Then, same in summer evenings when you don't want to deal with a huge campfire for making pasta salad after a warm summer day. You can grab wood pellets, set up on a rock, make your pasta, charge, then Netflix & ice coffee ☕ in your camp chair. Great review. You hit all the most important points! Lovely seeing doggo.

I see this reviewed a lot lately, and NO ONE has the pot that comes with it. They shouldn't even sell it without the accompanying pot. The efficiency is exponential. I bought the entire kit with stove, pot, and grill for $130 US dollars. People complain about the weight but fuel is everywhere, it can be used under a tarp in a thunderstorm, and it can charge your phone while you're doing routine cooking and heating water. I love this thing, I've had one for years, plus this new model, and my camping partner has had one since they first came out, all going strong.

Love my Biolite 2s (I have 2 including the 2 x grills). I use them 3 to 4 times a week to cook for my family and now elderly mother during the pandemic. I ordered the Trangia triangle from Japan to place on top of my biolite to accommodate a Dutch oven or to have the flame a little further away from my cast iron pans (reduces the hot spot in the middle of the pan and creates more stability). If you’re using sticks like this video, then you don’t have to lift the pan up when refueling.

There's a Japanese youtube guy called Ichi Hiro who puts three metal stakes in the ground around the stove and cooks on a full size wok, iron plate grills, pans, whatever. this little stove has no problem producing a lot of heat, if you can raise your cooking surface up a little and spread that heat out you can get some amazing results. =) I love the grill that biolite makes for this thing. @@847MicRoss Yeah. Either get a gasifier, like Solo puts out, or something like a Bio-Lite that has a self-charging blower, or you're asking for a lot of smoke. It's nice to know you have a (backup) plan for keeping the lights on and your devices charged that doesn't depend on clear skies. When the weather's the worst, and you need it the most, solar's going to fail you. I just wonder why there aren't more homes fitted with TEGs. If the electricity is out, there are millions of furnaces in America that won't run, even with gas still reaching their homes. But you could easily power the thermostat and fan off the heat from the furnace, and re-charge the battery that runs the fan during boot-up, like the Bio-Lite.

I am quite disappointed by this video. It's frustrating to see someone use the excuse of "but it works" to justify a product. I also own a Biolite stove, but I refuse to list off its benefits like this individual did. Unlike them, I did not receive the stove for free to give a positive review. I cannot simply brush off this video and move on because it contains misleading information. Not about the product itself, but about the person reviewing it. It's as if they said, "Sure, I'll review a product I've never used and give my initial thoughts without any real knowledge of its capabilities." This approach is not helpful, and simply saying "it works" without any explanation is pointless. Essentially, this video is just regurgitating the product brochure.
