Bushmills Travel Exclusive 10yo Vs Bushmills Standard 10yo

I managed to get hold of the Bushmills Travel Exclusive 10yo Irish Single Malt, so I thought it was a good opportunity to compare it to the standard Bushmills 10yo Irish Single Malt. They’re both aged in bourbon and sherry casks, so how are they even different? I’ve tasted them both to find out.

That's cool to hear. I have terrible luck with travel retail bottles. I always equate retail exclusive bottles as like a testing pool for newish expressions. Great comparison! Great vid!

That's really interesting, I often equate the standard 10 year old to something like a table wine, it's nice, really easy to drink, and down at 40% so most people won't have a problem drinking it. But if the travel exclusive one is even more well rounded, I'll have to try to lay my hands on one! I wonder how they'd do in a blind tasting...

A blind would be interesting, you’d definitely be able to pick the sherry in the travel exclusive, but I don’t think you’d pick any sherry in the standard.

Rarely you get a duty free version being better than the standard expression but I suppose higher abv and like you mentioned more active casks would do it. Great comparison, I love these head to heads. Slainte 🥃

Still can’t believe I misread the ABV. The font they use makes those 6s and 0s looks near identical (or my eyesight is going).

Brilliant comparison buddy. I always found that the standard 10 was good but was missing something, sounds like the travel bottle scratches that itch. Great review and looking forward to watching more, cheers!

I haven’t tried the Sexton, but I really enjoyed the travel retail Bushmills. For me it was definitely worth the money.
