Bushnell Pro X3 Review: New King of Golf Rangefinders?

Considering wind as one of the "elements" is very difficult. I have the X3 I am glad they did not try incorporating wind in the "playing as" calculation. Wind swirls. One moment you feel it's helping the next moment you are hitting into it. Temperature, altitude, and barometric pressure are far more stable variables to use in "playing as" number calculation. I do agree that it does not vibrate every time when ranging a flag which is a bit disappointing. Also - I ordered a Cobalt, based on positive reviews, and the unit I received was defective. I sent it back and decided to get X3.

I have the Pro XE and I love it and I think the Elements is still integrated into the XE and also the X3

i have the x3 and it has a lot of issues. bushnell wont replace it. lol

Very nice review!! Do you get to play golf much in the New Jersey area?

I usually get out there once or twice a year, but often only for a round or two in Jersey. Played Baltusrol Lower this Summer.

@@breakingeighty Yes, that's a very nice course. My good friend is actually the president of the golf club. He was formally the greens chairman as well and was responsible for the re-work of the course. It's a super place to play!

I have the Pro XE and have noticed to get jolt to work every time is to push and hold the button and do a sweeping motion to the flag. Since I have used the sweeping motion the jolt hits everytime. When I directly shoot the flag it doesn't jolt😑

Ah thats interesting! I was hoping that this was an issue with mine being one of the earlier models. But good to know. Good news is it's a non-issue with the X3.

Yes, I have the XE as well. What I do is shoot something behind the flag (like a bush), then move it over to the flag. That’s the only way to get the jolt.

@@aupperleethis is exactly how my xe works. I thought mine was defective but it actually says how to do this in the manual. Shoot just next to it and sweep over to flag. Never misses

It only locks on because it finds a length discprancy between the flag and whatever is behind it. It will take the closest item shot.

Wind is a subjective element … and can be mitigated with knockdowns. Cuts draws etc … so player talent knowing the direction of wind and intensity is independent of the rangefinder
