Good Lord, this is genius. I kind of snickered at the title when I saw this but I was like..... It is DAVE. Of course he would know how to make this, he knows everything LOL. As soon as that Bushpot got put on it's side on the flame.... I knew where this was going. I hope I never forget what I saw today, what a superb lesson. Amazing. TY Dave.

Can't wait to try some cornbread this way. When I've tried to cook it on the hobo stove, I pour the batter into the 8" iron skillet and try to turn when it's halfway done. Hard to flip and control the heat. This way should be easier. One more useful tip out of a long list of good ideas that I've gotten from you. Thanks.

Awesome as usual Dave! All of those just add water "breads" need butter though! Butter will keep for a long time without being refrigerated. Clarified butter will last even longer, those pancakes and muffins go down a lot better with butter. You can make your own clarified butter or just buy some ghee like the backpackers.

Cool, its got me thinking on a smaller messkit scale, I am a dog dish guy also but it has some limits. I like when you used two dog dishes with metal clips as lid or oven. The baking item could go inside, maybe with foil, the Dog dish is nice but I like to clear it so I cook second course or boil more water, so far I dump in cup, but maybe a second dish would solve a lot of problems, also could be used as lid, and if they nest, not much bigger. Walmarts got some new stuff I just made a vid

Great video Dave that was a great idea that I hadn't thought of for baking in the bush. I was wondering what your thoughts were on the Coleman camp knife that they have at Walmart. I just purchased one and ran a few simple tests on it. It will but all of the 3 inch logs easily and I showered all kinds of sparks of the Flint rod. The price is only $15 so it's very common man. If you would like to send me a message on your thoughts I would really appreciate it.

What stove is that? I figure with a small piece of sheet metal on the bottom, it wouldn't leave scorch marks with using wood. Also, does anybody know where I can get a bowl that'll fit in the Pathfinder Bushpot? Tried the MSR one & it didn't fit.

Good stuff. Now I have to get some chocolate chip muffins. You just have to hoot and holler when you're eatin' it don'tcha! The scavengers are gonna catch on and know when you're chowing down. You'll have a pack of wild critters waiting outside the cabin, having heard an "Aw maaaan" come rattling out of the cabin walls. Love it.

Dave, would you mind doing a video on the "ins & outs" of using an alcohol stove? It's a fairly simple thing, but it seems like the are a couple of nuances to it that might be a good thing to know (ex: I remember someone mentioning it turning into a fireball if the alcohol sloshes around- don;t really know what he meant, but that's the point). Anybody know any good vids on that (or do the instructions on the stove say it all)?

Been able to make a pretty darn good muffin using the Pathfinder SS cup. Fill the bottom of cup with small rocks, place foil (which will hold the batter) into cup with bottom of foil 1/2 in. above the rocks. Pour in batter and cover with another piece of foil. Sit the cup on cooking ring atop a can of sterno or hang over a campfire. About 15 to 20 minutes ya got a muffin. Dave, are you going to make a video of Ms. Iris kicking your ass over the burnt food crack ? Love to see it brother.

He's done that. Multiple times. He calls it the 10 C's of survivability. There's even a video of him hitting flea markets for a couple hours putting together a 10 C's kit for 20$. And this stuff is not commercials. Everything he recommends he takes out in the woods and beats it with a rock, or against a tree, rubs dirt on it, etc. Called 'Dirt Time'. He only recommends stuff because it's good. Seriously, everyone, start from the beginning watch all of the videos he's got.
