Not a bad film for me to find on the wolf moon, which coincides with a special date for me personally. :) The nighttime lighting, colour and atmospherics were particularly good. Another major highlight for me was the four actors, they really brought each of these characters to life and made them feel real to a quality that you expect to see in feature films. The makeup and costumes also look really good, far better than you'd expect from a KZbin horror short. The bandits' characterisations make me think of the closing quote from 'The Wolfman' 2010: "It is said there is no sin in killing a beast, only in killing a man. But where does one begin and the other end?" The above having been said, there are a couple things I think this short film could have been done better. Putting more of a colour gradient on the daytime's actor-featuring scenes to make them look more dynamic and match up with the daytime scenery shots, and putting more dramatic sound at certain dramatic points like 3:05. 3:05 seems like it's supposed to be a jumpscare, but the lack of non-diegetic sound caused me to have more of an "oh, my curiosity has been satisfied" reaction to it instead of a "holy crap, jumpscare" reaction if that makes sense - that moment feels like one of those music-less deleted scenes on a feature DVD's bonus features. The ending of the short also feels a bit too abrupt to me. Still, a good short film overall.

On set. We had a limited budget so mainly used the camp fire light and some v-lock powered LED lights 👍

We didn't end up shooting on Super16, but I did have 500t in mind with a plan to shoot the wides on digital as we didn't have the budget for bigger lights.

Excellent werewolf movie ... And it left a few questions open for a possible sequel ... I assumed the grizzled old guy (the Tracker) was a werewolf hunter (and so would have the needed ammo), but apparently not, since he shot himself in the end ... So I hope there is a sequel (or more) ...

he may have known of the preacher's danger and nature but not his weaknesses, or been wrong about them, and regardless silver is both expensive and not a great bullet material, they tend to make them less accurate. he mayn ot have had enough silver bullets or the need for it to be to the heart was too great a challenge for their accuracy, and he figured "well i don't want to risk being another one or going out the way those two just did, i might as well put myself down easy".
