I enjoyed when you 2 flew together awhile back. It was great that you 2 could connect again. After flying a lot of Propeller planes it must take sometime to adjust when flying a Jet Engine aircraft.

Me? Never! Checklist must be complete prior to take off roll. Could be sound async. Btw what would you chose: making GA for an aircraft on final and also losing your CTOT or starting a run before checklist. I know - you opt for other guys GA + 1 hr delay for you to accomplish 5 items of a checklist :)

Interesting video. I always like your Videos. But, why a full crew when there seem to be no standards? Your collaboration doesn't work. And why were you at the end of your rope as PF on ATC?

Good question! I think we did a pretty good job and Julia is a beginner pilot. Also ATC in Istanbul is quite interesting as you heard, she just says “are you able to execute…”without mentioning the STAR and giving the STAR after we passed one third of it, then joining STAR at 95 degrees, therefore it needs swift clarification and experience flying there. For this reason i take over the radio sometimes rather then make more confusion of FO talking to ATC who is bringing that confusion. Remember yourself as a FO beginner 😋

All these face palm intermezzos after two of Julias glitches seem a bit hmmm... 'rude' to me--?... As an old captain once told me "always be nice to your copilot - her/she might one day be your captain" ... 😯🙂

@@charlesschneiter good point, we are absolutely ok and as you see i don’t even react to it, its just to show fun part of our pilots life. I wish i could record my facepalm moments 😀 But just so you don’t think i am perfect , my story: “Runway 13 - cleared to land” - “cleared to land runway 31” and really making the approach to the wrong runway. i would restrict 13-31 runway usage - so confusing 🤦♂️😎

I miss SOPs between you and it seems as if two pilots are sitting together but are not in agreement. You request Gear Up before a positive climb is called by the PM. Such examples are common, which does not mean that you are bad pilots.

@@nikoritz4850 all fine, i didnt assume you meant that we are bad pilots, i know we are not and when you fly with fresh pilots - thats what you get. Good debriefing and “role play” 😈 change things to the best. In the plane we need to fly. I just wanted to point out that the world is not ideal and even Sun has spots :) Me and Julia are a great team, having fun times flying, she is getting more and more experienced. The gear up callout can be ordered before, of course if i see on the VSI that we are already climbing. PF shold not always wait for a callout of PM, otherwise you fly with gear extended or what? :)

I am not a professional, but wondering. You are flying several types of aircraft; do you need a type certification for every type or its depending from the software in the Cockpit? Why do you need a mask in the Cockpit, is the cabin not under pressure all the time?

Hi! Good questions Some planes need type ratings, some don’t . I pay my type ratings if i know i can earn with that type. Yet always worked :) A mask is needed by the regulations because shall the cabin become rapidly depressurised and both pilots are delayed with the mask donning action - it will lead to loas of consciousness of both pilots within 10-15 seconds. If one wears mask - its a game changer :)
