when i look at uber outside railway station and airport it shows x/km which looks like a fair price, 1 time i thought lets let local driver earn and i went to him directly, he asked for a price which was 2x of uber (happened with me multiple times). that day i learned there is no need to help others, no matter how good you are to a person, same person will scam you the second he gets chance

The INDIAN rules for uber and ola are great it provides safety and comfort to passengers as well as drivers and I think a professional license should also be made compulsory for drivers which will ensure safety of passengers

The biggest issue that Uber solved is guaranteed rides and successfully reaching at the destination on time. Off course, I am talking about India only. Before Uber, we used to face unlimited rejections by pathetic taxi drivers which was actually diminishing the objective of a taxi ride. Also, those unprofessional taxi drivers used to charge 4x/5x fares. But nobody cared about these issues. App based cab rides are the need of the hour, which we were eagerly waiting for. Illegal or not, I support Uber as it serves the basic purpose of a taxi ride.

I think towards city's centre or crowded places like Airport/Railway stations fare is less as demand is less compared to supply. Drivers will accept easily on low charges as they will get return trip for sure. And vice versa.

Last year in December I had an exam in Vizag. So we reached there and stayed at a hotel in Jagadamba. We enquired from a group of taxi/auto drivers that how much will they charge to take us to the centre. The centre was at Gudilova. They said it's gonna cost Rs.1500-2000 per head. We were two. I enquired the same on Uber. That costed me Rs. 400. With Ola it was Rs.380 something. Basically Uber and Ola destroyed the ego of those drivers who used to charge like 3-5x higher than the actual prices during odd hours or emergency times.

1. In case of an accident both, A normal taxi driver and Uber driver would pay it on their own. 2. In case of legality and regulations, In India where people "strictly" follow the rules undermining the bureaucracy might offend them. Uber isn't asking for these legalities, but if you want it, do it on your own expense. Still a driver will get more than an average salary and it'll cost less than an average cost to people. 3. In case of safety, both stands at same although in extreme cases uber would be more safer than a taxi. 4. Availability is what makes the uber more favourable. If you can trust on food delivery apps, i think you should trust this also.

Got to know few new things in this video as always. However, can using loopholes in the systems and using it to benifit your business be considered illegal? In my opinion, Uber challanged the entire taxi eco system which were taking their passengers for a ride (pun intended) with their refusals, rude behaviour, 'extra' fares and a whole lot of other unfair practices. I would rather focus on plugging the loopholes rather than penalising businesses benifiting from them.

These bureaucrats don't care about progress. Uber has built an amazing system to solve the problem of taxi demand. I agree drivers should be fairly compensated, but more drivers being "employed" is obviously far better than a few making a good rate. Progress takes time, and I think these companies are in the front line of it

From the last 1-2 years, I'm using UBER services but never face such a issue like driver called and told me that cancel. When I denied to cancel the booking so he stopped answering my calls.I tried more than 10 times but he didn't answer my call... It was around 11pm night, I was like walking alone and searching for auto or something but thank God finally got auto. I'm also sharing this painfull experience to all the Social media so that public should know how the UBER company giving service's to their customers. I'm attaching some of the screenshot of driver response when he told me to cancel the booking. And one more thing is UBER is charging cancellation fee of amount Rs.20 which is sense less.If your driver cancel the booking from his end so, why should I pay the cancellation fee. I'm not paying any cancellation fee and forwarding this painfull experience to all the Social media.

Uber's has been more of a blessing. Getting ride at odd times like late night or early morning flight has become very easy. Earlier we were at mercy of taxi drivers esp at desperate times. They would charge even 4x money if it is late night or not stick to agreed upon price at last moment knowing that we don't have any other option. Competition is always better for consumer.

For capitalism, Uber should be allowed (as passenger get benefit of low price) with some regulatory control (so Uber can’t overexploit). And that is what the India deed. I think this can be a practical balancing unbiased solution. Great minds will work on it.

I would say citing Uber as "Illegal" is illegal (pun intended), one point I found was missed out was that Uber started in USA, where company laws are pretty strict, so if they were doing exploiting the loopholes or doing illegal business, then USA government would have banned in primary stage. We can say instead of "illegal" is that Uber was unsuccessful in molding itself to the individual laws of the countries where it tried to do business.

Uber drivers are not safe. I myself have faced this and also complained it to consumer forum and lodged an FIR. One more thing you missed Mr. Rathee, Uber or any cab company is highly advantageous in the place you are new to. ie. It helps to reach us to the destination which we've never seen.

Very well explained Dhruv Sir :) I use to pay and go. My concern is passenger safety, privacy and ownership. If assumed they can check the battery status then no doubt tracking locations. Cost also depends on competition, here in Singapore many companies comes with offers, vouchers or points. Sometime new or inexperienced drivers are not aware of the routes and can be annoying at times leading to accountability. Once a driver mentioned if he gets more stars ratings he gets priority to riders if there are many cabs in one location.
